I picked up my 24 hour chip and have been sober since, one day at a time. I have found that living one day at a time works for the program as well as almost all other aspects of my life. A simple program for a complicated person. I will be sharing my story tonight with the inmates of the Carroll County Detention Center who have decided they want a new way of life as well. You have to give it away to get anything in return. There is much less chaos in my life now, not to mention quite a few more dollars in my monthly slush fund. New paint, here I come. If anyone out there ever needs an understanding ear, I will always be here. If you have a friend who needs an understanding ear, I will always be here. If you have... you get the point. Thanks for letting me share.
Hey Cheesehead! CONGRATS to you! It has been 27 years for me. I understand what you have been thru. If you ever need a shoulder you can use mine and here is the number 269 214 8869.
Dang brother, it takes a lot to put something like that out there for all to read. Congratulations and here's hoping you stick with it. And your advice goes both ways, you can hit us up if you need to;)

Good for you, my friend. Some talk about it, some don't; but whatever works for you and your family, works for your friends, as well.
Like you said, one day at a time ....it's sort of like trap shooting ...don't think about the next one, it's this one you're dealing with.
Best wishes, we love you. :)

Bob,
From one Cheesehead to another, congrats!
I joke around about my beer, but I really respect your commitment and outlook.
Hopefully we'll get a chance to meet face to face some day to talk cars, Packers, and such.

Thank you for sharing, Bob. I feel honoured and humbled.
Regardless of one's addictions or challenges in life, these are certainly words for us all to strive to live by.....
<DL><DD>Serenity Prayer<DD>God grant me the serenity <DD>To accept the things I cannot change; <DD>Courage to change the things I can; <DD>And wisdom to know the difference. </DD></DL><DL><DD>Living one day at a time; <DD>Enjoying one moment at a time; <DD>Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; <DD>Taking, as He did, this sinful world <DD>As it is, not as I would have it; <DD>Trusting that He will make all things right <DD>If I surrender to His Will; <DD>So that I may be reasonably happy in this life <DD>And supremely happy with Him <DD>Forever and ever in the next. </DD></DL>

Congratulations from another Friend of Bill W.
Next April will be 20 years for me. Although there have been a few potholes along the road, it's the best decision I ever made.

WOW Bob has it been that long already? I have been drinking for 30 some years now and still going strong; the day I stop is the day they bury me.
***Congrats on your willpower CheeseHead and wishing you continuing success.***
