View Full Version : official holiday rant

Lets start out properly. This is all opinion and I feel like saying aloud.

1) DO NOT talk about christmas untill AFTER thanksgiving, the day after go nuts I dont care.

2) DO NOT play christmas music under DECEMBER

3) Who came up with "happy holidays" ITS CHRISTMAS, say it!

4) Why do people feel they need to start EVERY holiday the month before it starts, greedy bastards sell crap for longer to they make more? bastards! (mainly walmart)

5) Im really sick of all these D-BAGS that say, "you cant call it christmas, it will offend someone" YOU OFFEND ME BY SAYING I CANT, call it what you want, and punch those people in the gut!

6) Why buy crap for your own family, im not talking about presents, Im talking about crap they dont want but you think, "hey i think they might like it" They woulnt. Give them a picture of you family (for the older ones) and for the younger ones, well, Im still trying to find something besides a video game or related junk to give them. They dont need it, thier generation is already a greedy, unsocial, in need of a haircut, and a good beating, they dont need more anti-social items. Im not sure what that is yet though. Im open to suggestions

7) Take some time out of your selfish schedule and talk to your grandparents and parents (if your still lucky enough to have any) and spend time with them over the holiday, trust me!

8) If your in an area that gets slick driving conditions, slow down. It could save someones life, or give you more time to see the idiots that dont know how to drive and give you more time to stay/get away from them.

9) PUT A FRICKIN TIMER ON YOUR OUTSIDE LIGHT DISPLAY, its annoying as hell to your neighbor at 3am taking a leak and having to fall back asleep when it already looks like dawn outside.

I HATE the holidays because of people who feel it needs to start sooner every year, be bigger, and more polically correct.

Im gonna go nuts one of these years, I swear!!

Ummm Happy Holidays!! I would type a longer holiday message but I just got back from Walmart where I bought 30 linear miles of lights to put on my house. I get the back up generator wired in tomorrow, it will carry me through the power outages caused by my display.

Black Noise, I agree with you 100%.

The company I work for tells us not to say "Merry Christmas"...we have to say "Happy Holidays". Apparently, wishing someone Merry Christmas might offend a non-Christian.

Funny...I'm a Christian, yet I don't feel offended if a Jew says "Happy Hanakkuh" to me...or if my Hindu friend from India wishes me "Happy Vishnu's birthday"...

Have a Christmas tree in your house?

It's a pagan symbol. So is a wreath.

I find it funny that most of the people who get all bent out of shape about this supposed "war on Christmas" don't know anything about the holiday.

1) Christmas was stolen, as an idea, from pagan religions, several of which claim the birth of a god-man type being close to the new year. All of them predate the Christian faith.

2) Christmas was placed on Dec 25th not because of any historical relevance, but for the sake of competing with the pagan religions for followers. They had a huge festival on Dec. 21st, the aforementioned winter solstice, so Christianity wanted one, too.

It is widely believed by Biblical scholars that Christ was born in late summer or early fall, by our calendar.

3) Without all of the commercialization Christmas has endured, it would not be as popular worldwide.

So if I choose to say "happy holidays" to y'all, it's because there are several of them and it's much shorter than "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, etc.." I don't give a crap about offending anyone -- it's just easier.

So let me be the first here to say "Happy Festivus."

And now come the feats of strength...

Yep, it's all interesting and true..... the problem is tradition... people can't accept the truth because of tradition. And since truth can't be accepted, there grows a hatred and disrespect for the truth teller and "the witch gets burned".
Heck some don't even realize that Christmas was once illegal to celebrate on the very soil we all walk upon today.
It's good to look into things and find the truth, even those that we hold near and dear to our hearts... no pain, no gain.

But, as always I and mine wish everyone the best. Because we are all human and this ain't no race.

hugs and kisses y'all!!!

Have to agree with SILVERSURFER. I enjoy the Christmas Season and am listening to the All- Christmas-All the Time radio station while I drive. (It's amazing how many different songs there are!) I focus alot less on the commercial craziness these days. Instead I try to make special time for our friends and family. And also on those who need a helping hand. Wishing all of you Peace of Mind and Peace on Earth. Merry Christmas!
