question for all the big marauder fans out there... I drove my 03 yesterday without a single problem... today I go to start the car and its ticking or knocking one of the two.. It was a little low on oil but still showed some on the dipstick.. what do I do now... any cheap ways of a fix??

How low is "a little low" on oil? Mine made a nasty ticking noise right before it passed away into the land of the burnt engines.

You didnt think to put a quart in and see what happened? :dunno:
If someone tells you to flush your motor with the garden hose, dont log on afterwards...

see now when the tps sensor when out I replaced that and ever since I changed it i realized that my a/f gauge was barely even reading anything, i mean it bareley lit up the first bar... oil pressure gauge still read about 75-100psi on startup and right between 10-15psi when idling

My dummy lights never came on either. I just noticed a pinging and knocking. TOok it to the shop and they declared it DOA.

Are you going to put oil in it now?
4drpower
12-02-2008, 07:53 PM
yes there was about a 1/4in of oil on the dipstick... I let the car run for about 15 minutes after I took the chip out there was no oil light on, but when i went to go shut the car off the check engine light was on but oil pressure was at around 15-25psi

already did it still makes the noise and its getting worse as the time goes by before it wouldnt make any noise until about 1500-2000rpms now i barely hit the gas and its idling u can still hear it

We aren't poking fun man. I know it sucks. WHere is the noise coming from? I don't know what to tell you other than take it to a reputable mechanic you trust.

I'm in Dayton, I could buzz down and take a look-see at it for you, unless you reside in the over-the-rhine neighborhood....

mine did the same.... well i should say the last engine i had did that noise. no longer on the new motor.
go to a trusted mechanic. the local lincoln/mercury dealer told me it was just a little tap, dont worry about it.

well the ticking never got louder... it was sooo subtle anyways no one ever noticed it, except for me. when it blew i had to drive 10 miles home on the highway, and it was gone. the final diagnosis was a spun bearing, 2 bent rods, and a torqued block.
the cam had been installed wrong from the previous dealer a month before i bought the car.

Mine makes a lovely ticking sound......loud azz fuel injectors. Even when I had stock ones they were noisy and now with the 39 lb injectors I can really hear it but once the car warms up and some driving it goes away.
Yes I had mine checked out and I noticed it when I had 50k miles and I am around almost 108k miles so if it was something else my engine would of been gone a long time ago lol.
Have a trusted mechanic check it out at least, make sure to keep an eye on the oil level, carry some spare with you if you have to and for the love of god don't go WOT.

My 300B taps a little and the stealership told me that it's fine too....What kind of motor oil do you use????????

fully synthetic Mobil1 Twin03....
2 days after my diagnosis i heard the boom and the worst knocking noise ever. and i blew my camaros motor.(what is to be expected of an 88 IROC)
but if you have a clean OASIS dont worry as much. Mine had been fixed for knocking before i bought it. thanks carfax!

see the thing is, is that no check engine light came on or no check oil or anythingLubrication issues will not set off the CEL, and there is no "check oil" light on this car.
yes there was about a 1/4in of oil on the dipstick... That's nowhere near enough.
there was no oil light onThere is no oil light on this car, only the gauge.
I'm sorry to say it, but I think you ran your motor out of oil and now it's history.

Could a bad sensor cause symptoms like this? Maybe the Crank Position Sensor or the Knock Sensor? :dunno:
