My stepdad grazed a deer with his MM a few days ago. He asked me to check on replacement parts. Remarkably, only the driver's corner lamp was damaged -- he doesn't think there is any painting needed, etc.. He just needs a corner/signal lamp.

Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket lamps? They are going for about $40 including shipping on fleabay. Anyone know if there are problems with using replacements or do I need to find him OEM? I'm going to look it up but I assume OEM will be at least 2x the cost.

Thanks

Had to get mine replaced a while ago due to someone scrapping that same corner. The insurance co told the body shop to use a generic replacement. I noticed that that color was different on the insides compared to the other side. The OEM has a more blacked out look and has The Mercury symbol as well. The fit had a bigger gap to some of the sheetmetal.
I told the shop I want the OEM one and they agreed. I think it was about $20.00 more. They do work OK, but I'm picky and it was replaced.

Contact Ray Sr in parts @ northeast lincoln mercury. The number is 215-331-6600. He is a member of this site & I purchased a right corner lamp from him back in march of 2008 for $54.21 + shipping. The list price was $75.90.
