We won't know until Doug has time to review the possibilities once the new software is installed. The company that licensed the current Gallery that Logan purchased was bought out by the company that licensed our previous Gallery, so each is probably not compatible, but Doug will look into it.

How do you download all the pics from your Member Gallery? Not one-by-one, I hope. I have over 500 out there.

I think the Thread with links to pics are hosed anyways, if they cannot save them. The location the Posts would be point to for the pics would MOST LIKELY be cifferent.

We went through this once before many moons before your arrival. The only difference was that the old pics stayed up in the old location for quite some time after the transition.

Logan started to move stuff, and them promptly gave up when it took too much time.

Yeah, kind of happened like that. He started moving stuff, then tried to restore and things went back to a different place so the links in the threads no longer worked because the pictures were in a different place. He left it up to each mamber to fix their own stuff, but at one-pic-at-a-time pace it was largely left alone so virtually all of the informative threads became crapola.

There are always risks when perforrming server upgrades.

I can assure everyone that Doug (Server Administrator) is taking every precaution necessary to ensure the data transfer goes smoothly. And with no data loss.

We run routine backups on the server to protect said data in case of hardware/software failure.

Backups and redundancy is what it's all about in the computer world.

This is an added feature us owners elected to take advantage of due to the member contributions we receive.

I did not say they had been deleted.

I was just looking over a Thread that I KNOW had pics a few days ago. The Pics are still in the Gallery, but the links in the Post are "X".
