Old Song Title, Help from the Old Music Buffs!

Ok you guys are going to think I am crazy but a bunch of us were sitting around the other day remembering old songs (trivia) and one tripped us up. We were trying to remember the name of an old ballad type song from the 60’s or 70’s in which a girl was hitch hiking and got pregnant by the guy who picked her up. Years later she saw the eyes of the hitch hiker in her child or something like that, the song is based on this story. I have searched for this song title and have had no luck so anyone have an idea? Don’t think I am nuts, I just have no life J
