Tire rack's out until end of the year on kdws 245/55/18's.
Anybody know where I can find a set to get me back on the road.
Car's in the shop and waiting. They've called everywhere and can't find any.

Search Nitto 420S, 255/55/18. You will like what you discover.
That's what BFG told me a couple of weeks ago, but now Tire Rack's website shows "estimated availability" today, December 8th. (thanks Chuck!) I think a few of us are waiting...

Tire rack says they won't have them until "the end of the year...."
Is anyone running fronts on the back?

That will make your ABS mad. Buy the Nittos or wait it out.

The ABS is cool with it; it's the traction control that gets mad. There are others here who run same-size tires in all four corners.

I was going to replace my rears with the Nitto 420s, from what I hear, they are great tires. My only issue was the possiblity of snow. The Tire Rack rep suggested Kuhmos Ecsta 255/55/18s a little better in the snow. They were only $116, so far, so good!:)

Last time I needed the rears the same thing happened.
I called Mercury and Ford local dealers - had the local Ford Dealer
parts find a set at a dealer in Texas and ship to Big O where I live
to install.
Sooooo - you might try that.

I went with the Nittos.
They were less expensive than the Toyo Proxes S/T II's.
Thanks for the suggestion.

If you go with 255/55/18 in the rear, what would you use in the front?
Story of my life. I put NEW rears on last month and they're already gone  . Damn trilogy :D

Hi All,
Picked up a set from Tire rack today. They will ship the fronts from Reno and the rears from Indiana. They should ship the rears at the weeks end.
Cheers, Terry

Keep us posted on the rears. I'm in desperate need of two also. I e-mailed BFGoodrich (Michelin) and they replied telling me that they will be back in production in May or June of 2009. Who do you believe? Tire Rack or BFGoodrich?
It seems that some of the Dodge Charger guys are replacing their Continentals with the 245/55-18 KDWS. I wonder if BFGoodrich didn't anticipate the increased volume.

My ABS got mad when someone rotated my tires years ago.

Did you try here:
http://www.eastcoasttires.com
Also search on 255/55/18's and checkout the Hankook Ventus RH06 & RH07's
I went with the RH06's on the rear. 2 years and 20K miles, so far they are excellent tires!
