I'm new to MMs, but been a Ford fan all my life, specifically Mustangs. I know what I'm willing to pay, but you guys are the experts when it comes to valuing these beauties.

I just picked up a Red 2004 with about 12,000 less miles and the same options on E-Bay about a month ago for a little less money. Car was in Michigan and I had a friend out there look at it for me. Some scratches and dings a body shop friend of mine is going to fix for around $300, but other then that, car is in excellent condition. Carrier shipping to Pennsylvania was very simple and cost $475.00. From what the dealer I bought mine from told me, the combination of the bad economy and previously high gas prices, coupled with the Marauder using Premium gas, has dealers getting these trade-ins cheap and getting rid of them quickly so they don't cost them money. My total transaction, including shipping & proposed paint/ding repair, cost me $12,900.00. Reports on the car, (Oasis, CarFax, and Expierian?) all checked out fine....

I am tuned and I turned my idle back down because unless you have UD pullies, wasting rpms at idle is totally unnecessary. So idle speed alone doesn't tell you no tune.

Looks like a good price! I just recently bought my 03 with 75,000 miles for $12,500 from a dealership in GA. I had a good experience buying mine, cause all the salesmen had nothing to do that Saturday and were willing to help with any questions I had. They told me I was the only customer they had all day. Most dealerships are struggling and are pricing cars just to move them. If it checks out, take it home.

Oh, I won't hesitate to make a trip, but it would be easier if I knew beforehand what I was getting into. That way, I can make one trip, take a check, and drive my new baby home.

They said there are a few prospective buyers, but for all I know, it's typical sales BS. I am thinking about making a deposit over the phone just for the hell of it; they didn't want to talk money over the phone. Don't know why, their tactics won't make me budge.

Looks good to me, go there with cash and lowball em, thats how I bought mine. I got it for about 3k less than the market was asking, simply by throwing a low amount at them and walking out. I was happy with what I paid, a clean carfax/oasis (Thanks Roylpita) and a clean car.

Things I would look at when you get it, the wiper trough, make sure its clean and the air ride compressor. If its corroded, remove it and clean it up, seal it and paint it and drill some holes in the tray it sits in.

Good luck, have some balls when dealing and go get it, it looks sweet..

The max I would go is 12k, which should include all that tax, title, doc fee etc. crap. I'd definitely push them for the lowest price, shoot for 10k and work from there, don't pay more then blue book value.

Interesting foot note. I found a carfax entry from a "potential buyer" that gave that car a 1 out of 5, said bad paint, something about the tires and said "abused" and listed maintenance issues, so Iit may have been for the better. Just found it about an hour ago while researching other cars. E.
