Bah! You have it easy Aren!

It's +3 now. In the next 48 hours it's going to drop steadily here to -35. That separates the men from the boys!

For all you in the North East US; beware of an 'Alberta Clipper' headed your way, in about a week. You are definitely going to take a shot on the bridge of the nose.

-30C on Sunday here.

but only -10C in Vancouver.

-10 in Van is not a pretty scene. The Lotus eaters don't like that sudden sort of change. ;)

It's already starting. It's dropped a couple degrees here in the last hour or so. Old Man winter is some cranky!

Every thing's a trade off. It's damn cold, but if you dress properly and prepare (winterize) your vehicle, it's not a big deal.

But, we also don't have earthquakes, hurricanes, rats, cockroaches or poisonous creepy crawlies. I'll take the cold. ;)

That's too damn cold! Post some more snow pics, and stay warm my Great White Northern bro-hams. (it's a toasty 39F here)

Wow. 3 Days of -30, yesterday am said -36. Windchill was into the -45s.

Water in one part of the house is frozen, guess the builders got stingy with the insulation. Truck wouldn't start, because I couldn't plug it in. Couldn't find the block heater plug!

If this is another of those fancy-schmancy F-150s sold in Canada without a block heater, I'll be some pizzed! (First winter with the new truck).

At -30C, do you have to plug in your car?

At -30C, do you have to plug in your car?

Manual recommends doing so at -23 and lower, 3 hours before you start it. At -30, it's a must.

I bought the F-150 because I started the Crown Vic after several days at -40 (plugged in, battery warmer AND a circulating heater) and it lost a ring or two. The *pop* was actually quite loud. Nice black smoke, and nothing but. It wasn't worth fixing.

Lots. Get out the sled (Skidoo), road hockey, pond hockey, ski/snowboard, ice fish . . . There is nothing better than a good game of broomball, then a big bowl of fresh chili for dinner! Mmmmm!

(For you southerners, broom ball is a combination hockey, football and sword fighting. Broken bones are common. ;) Go hard, or go home!)

And I only post here during WORK hours, I'll have to know. Hehehe.
