After numerous constructive suggestions, we are launching this Vendor Review forum, modeled after the forum at Mark VIII website. The forum is placed in the Supporting Vendor forum.

Here are the rules

1. Posts must be started by a paying customer of the vendor being reviewed.

2. Only the vendor being reviewed, and the author of the original post are allowed to respond.

3. Responses to reviews must be made no more than 72 hours after the previous post.

4. Posts are to be kept civil and respectful from both parties engaged in the review. Be fair and respectful and your words will carry much more weight!

5. Please follow up with a conclusion post: Was your problem resolved? Are you satisfied with the solution?

6. All posts are initially in moderation, making sure that only the buyer and seller participate. Not to worry if you don't see your post right away. All other posts will not be approved. Posts will not be edited unless any uncivil or disrespectful language needs to be altered.

7. If you wish to discuss the merits/drawbacks of a product, and not a vendor review, then you should use the appropriate technical forum (Exhaust, Transmission, Tuning, etc.) for that discussion. Product Reviews go in the Reviews section found linked in the Navigation bar at the top of any page.

Sounds good, but these will not be edited, deleted, or closed except for volgar language or personal attacks right?

Criticizing, ethics of business practices, is not a personal attach.

This is going to go about as well as a pediphile moving in next to an elementry school.

I don't care for your analogy at all, but if you're predicting that our membership can't follow the rules and only be disruptive, I would hope that our membership disproves that notion. We will try this out. The idea is to help improve and/or applaud the customer experience. The only way it won't work is if it's abused.

After numerous constructive suggestions, we are launching this Product/Vendor Review forum, modeled after the forum at Mark VIII website. The forum is placed in the MarketPlace parent forum.

Here are the rules

1. Posts must be started by a paying customer of the vendor, or the owner of the product, being reviewed.

2. Only the vendor/manufacturer being reviewed, and the author of the original post are allowed to respond.

3. Responses to reviews must be made no more than 72 hours after the previous post.

4. Posts are to be kept civil and respectful from both parties engaged in the review. Be fair and respectful and your words will carry much more weight!

Mary, a very positive step in the right direction. The way the rules are structured it seems to me that this new forum is more of a conflict resolution area between vendor/member than a true product review area.

I know is only semantics but perhaps something like Vendor/Member Resolution Forum would be more accurate, simply stating your opinion of a product without actually needing or wanting a response from vendor could be done in a Product Review area open to anyone.

Again, I applaud the new forum and the open approach, The owners have taken one step in a very good direction, I hope they will also consider other positive steps that I believe will renew peoples faith in a Forum that was once home. Javier.:)

Very good point, Javier. We do already have a product review section found thru the link at the top of any page in the navigation bar. I've changed the posts accordingly. We'd like the opportunity for positive experiences to also be posted, so I'm choosing not to include the word "Resolution."

Anything is worth a shot now, too bad this was never put into place a long time ago. Hope it works out.

I know it's going to be hard to resist replying to a post in a thread in the Vendor Review forum, since many of us use "Today's Posts" to see what's new. Take a second to look at the forum you're posting in. No disrespect is intended when posts by someone other than the buyer or seller are deleted. Thanks.

Also, everyone is to start their own thread. "REVIEW" will be placed as a prefix to the title of each thread.

To the four Members that posted up in Tom Doan's Review in the Vendor Review Forum: Tom's post is not a conversation with Members. It is a statement regarding his vendor experience. Only a vendor may reply. The word "Review" appears at the beginning of each thread title in the Vendor Review Forum. Any replying posts are deleted except for the specific vendor addressed in the first post. I know we're all still on a learning curve here. Thanks for helping to keep all this straight.
