I saw an article today that said that Chrysler is turning away 25-30% of buyers from its showrooms because of the tight credit situation.

This is not good.

This will mean many layoffs around the country. We have parts suppliers here for Chrysler. It could 300 plus jobs lost here. This is a town of 5K!

Is it possible that their monthlong shutdown (instead of their usual 2 week holiday hiatus) is more of a scare tactic to force the government to step up the pace on a bailout?

Anybody who believes losing a major US auto manufacturer is somehow a "good thing" and it "teaches them a lesson" is an idiot.

They are not selling the cars and trucks! Financing is a huge problem. The local Chrylsler dealer told me that if your credit score is below 700 they can not get the deals done. They can try scare tactics but it goes way deeper then that. You need to fear this as the impact will be devasting to this country!

I thought this whole "trickle down" economic theory was disproven.

Y'know, big corporations=evil. Right? Good thing the "new guy" is going to tax these evil corporations and give the money to those that haven't got any.

I say tax Chrysler until they can't walk strait.

Agreed, but wasn't chrysler a sinking ship when it was sold?

You can't produce ugly overpriced crap and expect the public to come running for it.
