Martyo- has not been around for a few months and the roomer mill is talking about a turbo project. Remember he was the first to cross the 10 barrier.
Jerry Barnes- was a no show at SSHS8, but factors strongly in the run for the 9 second championship. Money talks.
Glassman99 - A major player from the ATL area. I have personally seen his car on the dyno and the track. He will be a factor in the race.
Shermanator/Blown3.8 -it's hard not to pick this team because they have a winning record and continually innovate ways to make the marauder faster on a budget.
MarauderTJA- The King of the South. This car has more under the hood and still has not reached it's full potential.
Dennis Reinhart- he owns a performance shop and is teamed up with some of the best minds in ford racing. Look for good things from DR in 09.
Ford Nut- he has accomplish some interesting engineering accomplishments. His latest project should put him firmly on top.
Johnkuhn- is the one to watch in 09 as a major contender. It's all about the Benjamin's. Rumor has it that John has plenty of dead Presidents tied up in his latest Mercury project.
Tito35- has a strong racing legacy. From is cartoon hero Speed Racer, to his mentor the Invisible man. Tito35 has all the ingredients to be a winner, but only if he shows up.
Other- TMF with his current project has the right stuff. I am sorry I overlooked his name because he might be the first to bypass the 9 second cars and enter into the 8 second club.

Thanks Chris. The weight thing is not even in the equation actually. You know that:D. I would like some skinnies up front (to pull the wheels), don't know when or if that is going to happen. I will be ordering a pair of lightweight 16 X 9 HoleShot Wheels and some new Hoosiers. Other than that I need some good track conditions (Bradenton is the best), a good sixty foot and hopefully I can make it to the nines. If not, should be a low 10.0 to 10.1 best at least to get the World Record away from Sherman (at least for a while). Lets not forget JB's Triology 1 here either.

I may wait until March at the NMRA Spring Break Shootout as well. Would be a great event for us all. I need you for my coach Chris, don't think your father would approve though:lol:.

It's a tough call Sherman/Blown 3.8 and MarauderTJA are right there, just need that little extra push plus they race at two different tracks. Cars that fast a lot of factors come into play. I hope to see a lot of people drop down in their times.

The 11 second group is getting :bows:larger and larger. Years ago "it was a small membership elite" group. Still is, don't get me wrong, but overall it is actually amazing how far our cars have come on the drag strip with mods reflecting impressive ET's, MPH etc. Really cool :beer:

That would be acceptable! Bradenton is 6 hours further South and that adds another 2 days to the vacation for driving. If I was a little closer to Florida, it wouldn't matter.

I would like to try for early March because I still have to get cage work done. I'm not driving 4 days just to not pass tech or get kicked off after only one pass, especially if there is more on the table and there usually is.

Not much goin on here. Need to get to the track more. Its hot and muggy here. Been raining basically every afternoon. Went to the local 8th mile and had awfull traction... the n20 shot was only .15 better than the non n20 run. Started drizzling after we got the tires changed.

We'll try and hit up a midnite madness or an early morning event to get some better air.

We missed the good spring air this year due to the car getting painted.

Obviously the difference from a 12.99 or a 9.99 is one-one-hundredth of a second. However, in the sport of drag racing, races are won and lost with times in that small of a range all the time.

Anyone who drag races here KNOWS that getting a couple of tenths better in the 1320 is serious. A half second better, now you are spending money. Anthing more than that in reducing ET times, serious $$$$$$$.......(a few of us here really know that)

I called a friend of mine who is a NHRA Track Official. I asked him the question, if I ran (which is a long shot) a 9.99 with my car is that considered 9's? His answer YES! Once you pass the 10.0 threshold everything changes. Then my current roll bar would be null and void and I would need a serious cage (which will not happen).

The same applies with other safety equipment which is based on et time.
