Has anyone raced a new Dodge Challenger either on the strip or a private road? :burn:

In my neck of the woods I'm seeing new Challengers on every road. The only dealer here has a whole line of them for sale.

At my last outting on the drag strip, with my car running poorly, I bested the time of the lone Challenger there.

We didn't actually race each other, just compared time slips.

Just wondering. At some point I will challenge a Challenger.

Regards, :nos:

Was it a SRT/8 or a R/T? Now that I know this, Ill be happy to take one of these on.

The SRT-8 manual transmission will run 13.6 in cold air and high 13 thirteens to low 14's in the summer. The automatic version will slow the car down by .6 to .8 tenths in the quarter mile.

Do you mean the R/T with the manual? I thought the SRT/8 only came with that autostick automatic.

Go to the 09 Challenger website and custom build your SRT-8. It has a 6 speed manual option.

On the SRT-8 versions, the manual transmission adds just $695 - far less than the $1,700 gas guzzler tax, which is partly subsidized by dealers.

Saw the full deal R/T part in Walmart parking lot yesterday. Lo and behold it was it was being loaded with goodies as i was coming out the door. In all the madness and rain did get to talk to him much, but did get a look inside.

Today i saw a black one with orange rim ring on the way to mom's house for Christmas. Looks like they are going to be as prolific as the Chargers. Starting to see more and more of them.
