View Full Version : Some reflections on Marauderville...

Here are a few random thoughts that passed through my head today.

While at Marauderville:

I never heard or saw a single argument (doesn't mean it didn't happen, I just didn't see one)

Everyone had a grin on their face at least once an hour for three days.

It was very hard to think about all the sacrifices and lost work time when you are having FUN.

Friends are made instantly when you share a common love (the car, man).

This car must last forever...

Being Marauder owners puts us into a rare minority among humans.

Most every sentence began or ended with "Wow" or "Cool".

What will all this lead to next year when the car is out of production?

Mature, adult men and women will behave like children on Christmas day and giggle/chatter/act silly after-
1. Seeing something that looks like what they have on _their_ car.
2. Seeing something that looks nothing at all like what is on _their_ car.
3. Hearing those pipes....
4. A drive in the Trilogy car!!!
5. Getting your EEC reprogrammed by Dennis Reinhart!
6. Driving your car after the above reprogramming!
7. There is no seventh thing.
8. "Winning" a free Marauder hat/coffee mug/toy.
9. Witnessing a Marauder burnout.
10. Driving the Trilogy car!
11. Helping a brother Marauder owner or receiving help from him/her.
12. Watching ordinary citizens ogle your car and answering those same five questions over and over.
13. Dreaming of the day their car is supercharged.
14. Putting a face on that guy.....
15. Driving in a zillion-car Marauder convoy.
16. Getting Mr. Babcock's initials on your fusebox/airbox/dashboard, etc.
17. Touching and seeing the stuff on the website.
18. Experiencing all the above when it is some other person doing it.

I've got a million of 'em...

Hell yeah InnKeeper04!
It was nice to meet you, and everyone else! There was a kind of camaraderie there I haven't felt since I left the Army.
I am so jazzed about this! (can't ya tell?) Everyone was great! I've got a few new ideas for my MM. and of course I bought some Denso plugs and a 180 stat from Dennis! :D

Thanks again to everyone who brought this together!

ok,ok... I stop ranting. I can't help it, it was a blast!

LL#3-
I was there and I can personally attest to at least one toast ( and several conversations) about you and BOTH your canine buddies. I'm not kidding. These are nice folks on this board.

Thank you so much guys for that toast. I wish I could've been there to hear it. The day that Emmie died I was a total wreak. Once again, thank you. If you have video footage of the toast please send it to jmorganti3@comcast.net

There's no video- it was informal and just a few of us. I wouldn't have surprised if there were more toasts in different places with different smaller groups. We felt your pain, man. I heard a lot of people talk about you specifically whenever we spoke about the type of people on the site. I think you afforded us the opprotunity to be at our best by posting your loss. Made me proud of them and sad for your loss all at the same time.

Thank you 2003 MIB. You have soothed my pain a little.

Each of us Marauder owners must set aside some time each day to pity the poor bastar... uh, fellows who cannot or do not have their own Marauder.

Or not.

I don't think I'll ever forget driving down to the track the first time in a line with Sarge, Zack and TooManyFords.

When Zack pulled up even in the passing lane with Sarge and I knew they were both gonna go WOT ... it was awesome.

If only there was a way to bronze that!

I would've loved to have that bottle of Jack! I wouldn't drink it though. My dad would've.
