JUNE 5th-7th!!
Well lets do it all again! We had a great turn out last year and I was told by the coordinator that they are going to try something with the Marauders this year, Im hoping to have a bigger and better turn out then last year!
REGISTRATION, Make sure you register online here with Mercurymarauder.net as your car club and put your car in the STOCK class no matter what your mods are. This is so you can be parked with the rest of us------>Carlisle Events Online Registration & Passes: 2009 All-Ford Nationals Showfield (http://store.carlisleevents.com/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CE&Product_Code=2009-027&Category_Code=CANC)
EVENT,This year they are doing the "coolest car club award" I think we have a shot if our turn out is strong---->Carlisle Events All-Ford Nationals. Experience The Cars. The People. The Excitement. (http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/events/ford-nationals/)
We will of course have the tent to sheild us from the crazy hot temp's. I'll get in touch with those in charge to have it arranged.
HOTEL, I personally like to stay at the hotel Carlisle. They have a nice resturant, bar, plenty of parking and a very big indoor pool. Which is a must. Be sure to book ASAP cause they fill up quick!------>Secure-Res.Com Reserve Packages (http://www.secure-res.com/res/vn3/listp.aspx?id=1585)
There is also a nice Hotel 8 right across the street which is pretty decent. They are both only 2 miles from the fairgrounds.------>Super 8 Hotels | Carlisle Pennsylvania Hotel | Carlisle, PA 17013-8855 | Near Recreations, Appalachian Trail (0.50 Mile) & Sp... (http://www.super8.com/Super8/control/Booking/check_avail?areaCode=449B&brandCode=SE&searchWithinMiles=25&areaType=1&destination=Carlisle&stateName=Pennsylvania&state=PA&countryName=United%20States&country=US&checkInDate=&numberAdults=1&numberRooms=1&checkOutDate=&numberChildren=0&numberBigChildren=0&rateName=Best%20Avail&rate=000&variant=&id=08012&propBrandId=SE&force_nostay=true)
My friend Damon likes to set up Go-karting on Saturday night. We rent out the track and the cost is usually $40-$60 depending on the number of people. The track is located a few minutes away from the hotels and its a lot of fun.---->Sports Emporium ::: the place to play :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::::::::::::::::::::::: (http://www.carlislesportsemporium.com/sitemap.htm)
We had over 30 cars last year and I think we can do better!
Around Febuary, Ill get the T-shirt design poll going and get the orders together so we have them for in time again for Carlisle.

They require a credit card to hold the rooms for the group rate and my card is on life support after my christmas list. I would prefer to have a definiate number of people who will take the rooms so Im not killed.
It may be better for people to call and book it.

It was a really good time last year! Thanks again to Blackened300a, Smoke and everyone who made it such a success. At this point there is a 90% chance that we'll be leaving for California on or about June 5th. Hate to miss Carlisle and the chance to support MM.net and a BIG Marauder turnout. I encourage everyone to make this show if you can. Marauder's ruled the day last year! As the man said, we can do even better this year. :burnout:

I've gone every year since 2002 with my 93 TBird SC. However, THIS YEAR it will be with the MM! The MM crowd looked like they had a lot more going on last year than the SC crowd which is dwindling. So, count in another '04 DTR this year! Looking forward to it. I will probably try to stay both Saturday and Sunday this year - usually I only go for one day as Carlisle is close to home.
See you guys and gals there.
I am now registered as of today - 1/6/09!
I am now reserved at the Hotel Carlisle for one night, Sat. as of 1/8/09!

Be advised: I stayed at the Ramada Limited last year, it was cheaper but the rooms were 1 star and the parking really sucked. Early arrivers had parked their trailers in about 25% of the total spaces and a big Rig had parked across blocking about 8 spots. I had to park on the grass under a pine tree and had sap all over my car the next morning. I swore not to go thru that again.

Last June I was absolutely sick after taking my MM on a camping trip in the woods in Maryland. My paint has been ruined to a certain degree by an incredible load of caterpillar crap deposited on it from the trees followed by some rain followed by hot sun. I had to sit there and watch the damage - there was nothing I could do to stop it. You'll see it at Carlisle. Be CAREFUL where you park. At least the pine tree sap is possible to get off without permanent damage to the paint.:(

Trees were to the right of the tent and across the street in front of our tent. i mentioned this over at CVN, and it got some "+1" action...hopefully it doesn't hit the hornet's nest too hard...
was there any possibility of doing a joint registration between the two sites, i.e. "mercurymarauder.net/crownvic.net" as the group? they'd give us our show space, and then on our own, we could split the group space up into the two sites, then we'd both be together...
just trying to avoid a potential bummer for people like me, Trash, PantherP71, and others who are members of both sites and know people from both sites.

just trying to avoid a potential bummer for people like me, Trash, PantherP71, and others who are members of both sites and know people from both sites.
If I recall correctly they were parked next to us last time?

The thing is that we were so pressed for parking space last year that we had to park in all direction's in a attempt to make us all fit and we still couldn't get all of us together.
CVN had their tent right across from us last year. Isn't CVN doing something like last year?

As for T-shirts, I think Im going to make 100 up in black and 100 up in white with assorted sizes, but only take special orders for the women shirts.
Just come up to me at Carlisle with what you want and Ill hook you up. This prevents any mistakes and less chance of missed orders.
Ill also remember to stock the larger sizes!
Whatever is left over will be posted up and sold to whoever didnt attend.
This will make my life easier and less stressful.

I'll be there again on my 14th annual Ford pilgrimage. Charlie and I had fun putting his '03 300A in the show and I really enjoyed talking with the MM.Net members, because I'd owned my car only 2 months at that point.
I haven't voted in the poll yet, because what car I take is up in the air. It may be me & Charlie & maybe a third car buddy in my DTR, or we may trailer up one of our Cougars or the '59 Ford he bought last year on the way home. Either way, I will be hanging out at the Marauder tent more this year--no broken bones this year (let's hope!).
Any chance a red hat will be available for sale there? I missed the sale when I was in the hospital with pneumonia last month. :depress:
Cheers!

what's the last day I can do this? Like I said, I'm not sure if I'm going or not. I don't want to register and then find out I can't go. Likewise, I don't want to NOT register and show up and can't even park with you all.

This was way back in 1999 or 2000. I only go up for the day. We used to park in those grass lots and we stopped at that buffet place one time before we left.

Just noticed Rich giving you the ears. I think that Tom (ts-pa) had just made a funny remark that made us look toward him. Can't recall specifically.
BTW, Where the hell was i when the pic was taken?
I think that this was taken rather late in the afternoon on Saturday (around 5 PM or so). Most of the folks in the pic had been baking in the tent that afternoon.

The show starts on Sunday pops. So you don't have to be there till saturday night around 9ish.
That works as I only need to be around along enough to show you up! By the way are you buying dinner one night?:D

Well Gary Sr & myself got the marauder up & running for this years carlisle. So we'll be there... I'll be posted a thread about the latest car's mod'z prob 2marrow. But the newest Dyno runs show it to be 617rwhp & 588rwtq.
This will be the first carlisle I'll make it to in 2yrs. Before that I was there every year since 2004 w/ the marauder.

I checked Carlisle's website and the pass is good for two people for the entire weekend. (I assume that means Thurs - Sunday...)
I'm trying to be a little snarky. You think I might be able to get away with coming up on Saturday with my GF and then going home and giving my pass to my Dad to use on Sunday? He wants to go up with my mom and they want to look for a 1972 Mustang convertible (mom's retirement gift ),
Think the folks at Carlisle would catch on to that?
I doubt i'll actually do that, but just a thought!

If you are talking about the registration pass to get into the showfield area, it is a sticker that goes on the windshield. Ain't no way that is coming off any car in recognizeable shape to give to anybody. My sticker from last year came off in about 25 different pieces all crumpled and unreadable.

Mike Poore had a genius idea last year. He put saran wrap on the back of the sticker, now you can remove it and replace without ruining the sticker.

lol no i don't care about the car registration, i'm talking about the free passes! haha I figure if it comes with two free entries for the entire weekend, then hell, I'd go up Saturday and then give it to my folks who will go up Sunday.
Kinda stupid, anyways, now that I think about it. Doesn't make much sense to go on two separate days...

any other person can ride onto the grounds with you no questions asked, as long as you have the show sticker on the windshield.
