The following is a true story. The names have not been changed and this thread may be the only documentation of what I believe to be the adventures of the world’s oldest juvenile delinquent- Our own Cruzer.
We were lined up in Ennis and preparing to stage for the Street Ford class. Maury went to talk to the track officials for some direction. He runs back to us and in his best John Wayne yells, “Follow me, Boys we’re in lanes 7, 8 & 9!!!” He hopped in the lead car (not his- no hood ornament) and drove to the staging lanes. The look on the man’s face when he got out was only matched by the surprised owner who returned from the bathroom to find Maury’s car waiting for him. It was the funniest thing I saw all weekend- no mean feat. I was proud of him for not hitting the NOS button in another man’s car. We’ve got to watch this Maury kid, Gentlemen- he might be starting down a bad path….

:lol:In Maury's defense: on no less then 6 occasions this weekend, did I walk up to the wrong Marauder. Usually,.. it's not an issue, the Marauder I see must be mine! Since I never see any!

Maybe, Tom but I think it really may have been just the excitment of the drags...Don't let Cruzer scam ya- he's not "confused" very often- the man is sharp!! I will confess that I used the key fob to keep from walking up to the wrong car this weekend.:D
Uh, yeah... I bought my Silver Birch to avoid such senior moments.... Yeah, that's it, yeah.
There is never a doubt in my mind where my car is when I go to Wal-Mart. It's the big silver car way out by itself away from mindless door dingers.
I like that word: Dingers.

p.s. Cruzer knows what he is doing ;>)

That's right InnKeeper!
I park ALL the way in the back when I'm at Wally World,.. or ... really anywhere for that matter. :)
I never laughed so hard as when I saw the Walker Racing sticker on Cruzer's car. He even had a walker, though I must confess I only saw him use it as a seat between runs down the track.
That man can spin a yarn too. His book of memories was great fun ... especially with his commentary. (What a lucky guy too ... 50 years married to the same woman.)

Yep, "Ol' Man Marauder" is one of a kind. He broke the 16 second barrier in Ennis with just a Dennis re-flash. Drag racing at 75- I hope I'm doing that....

DOH! I can't believe she was letting me call her by the wrong name for so long- the woman is evil but in a very good way. When you gonna marry her?

For the next meet; I am going to buy a toilet plunger at Home Depot and pain the wooden handle to look like a peppermint stick [red and white paint]. Whenever I park the car, I am going to place the plunger squarely on the center of the roof to make my car visible.
Note to others........ if you do the same, please choose another set of colors to dintinguish yourself.
I also reserve the right to hang a small flag from the handle as well.

Your banner should certainly have "354" on it.

What will the flag say? "Don't use on toilet?" :D

Come on Racer, take a chance!
I took a chance 41 years ago and I'm still on a roll!

Plunge at your own risk......
Racer, if you think that putting mods on your MM is expensive, wait until you get married!

Believe me, I already know that Ross. I'm still trying to finaliize my divorce from the first wife. She can't understand why the stores reject her credit cards when they're all maxed.
My girlfriend doesn't even have any cards except for gas. She likes cars to boot! The perfect woman!

Maury is truely a one of a kind nice guy. I saw that fiasco and laughed my a$$ off. Plus I could see the gleam in his eyes at the staging area.....He told me that "...a week before (he) was nearly dead, now look at me!..."
As I said before, we had too much fun and so little time...
