Trade in my Marauder w/ or w/o winter wheels?

Hey all,

Thinking about trading in my '03A for a used STS-V. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my winter tire/wheel package that is on the car. Tires are brand new, but I doubt the dealer will care. My problem is my summer tires are toast (cords showing through on front tires, rears are nearly treadless).

Not knowing how dealers value up all this stuff on a trade, should I:
A) Get their trade-in appraisal with the winter wheels on, and just tell them I have the summer rims and toasted tires.
B) Swap the summer rims on, potentially take a beating for crappy tires, and sell the winter tire/wheels myself?
C) Replace the front tires on the summer rims, put them on the car, and still sell my winter package separately?

Is there any market this time of year for a winter wheel/tire package for a MM? What are they worth? If I'm only looking at $200-$300 selling them myself its probably not worth screwing around with.

[edit] - let me add that my 03 has 95k miles, has been my DD for 5 years including MI winters, and I live at the end of a dirt road. (So the undercarriage is a little nasty from 5 years of mud and slop). So I figure selling the car to a private party (instead of trading it in) will be difficult.

If you are going to get rid of it, which I'm sorry to hear, I would sell it with the winter tires on it, tell them you have the original rims and ask what they'll give you for them, then toss them in either way and wash your hands of the car and all it's spare parts and be done with it.:(

My secret hidden agenda is to convince the wife that if the dealer will only give me $7,500 for it (which I think is about right), I might as well keep it for a winter beater car......Would save me $1500 for buying winter tires/wheels for the Caddie (hmm - now that I type that - my net then is only about $6k - hardly worth just giving the car away).

I could be the first guy on the planet with a MM winter beater. Have those words ever been used in the same sentence before?

You won't get any more for the car by trading with the winter wheels & tires.
You will get less trading the Marauder with bald tires.
You will get the most for your Marauder selling it privately, including the tax credit that you would recieve by trading.
Offing the Marauder for a caddy? Seems like a step down :depress:
