6.5 vs 5x7/6x8 components

Which size speakers would give off a better quality music? I see more variety for the 6.5's and have dealt with several but have never really heard the 5x7/6x8 components so don't really know what to expect with them. I am building a good system not high end but not cheap crap. I have a jl 10w6 i am going to for my subwoofer and probably a pioneer headunit.
