I am driving from Chicago, IL to Scottsdale, AZ on sunday and was looking for a place to stay for the night if you can put up with me! :D If not and you know of a good a hotel let me know. I'll probably drive 12 hours the first day and I haven't decided on the route yet. I think I am going to stay south as possible for the warmer weater. Have any suggestions or offers let me know!

I'll be driving the K5 incase it snows and I need to tow someones junk when we drive to Detroit later next week.

You're sure welcome to stay here. I'm right off I-90 but I'm only 5-6 hours into your trip. I-90 may not be your best route anyway.

1801 miles .... one way. About 26 hours if you can average 70 MPH.

I-55S, I-44W, I-40W, I-17S (St Louis MO, Springfield MO, Tulsa OK, Amarillo TX, Albuquerque NM, Flagstaff AZ. Phoenix/Scottsdale AZ.

Mid point is close to Oklahoma City, OK if you do it in two - 12/13 hour days.

Spread it over 3 days and Joplin, MO and Albuquerque, NM are you approx layover points.

Since you are a music buff .... you may be interested to know that you will pass through Winslow, AZ.

Motorhead whd507 is probably youre best bet Springfield MO is around 5hrs south os ST Louis on I-44 and St Louis is around 5 from CHI Town so 10-12 drive to his place. Just a suggestion!!! But renting may be youre best bet dont wearn youre own car out!!!

I looked up everything and it looks like my stopping point will be in Oklahona City. If anyone is near that location let me know. Heck I might even make it to Texas. Thank you so much for your offers so far. I want to make this trip in two days time.

I'm actually going to the Barrett Jackson auction too! I didn't know it was in town! I wish my camera was working so I could take pictures of this whole trip. It'll be a gas. I don't know if I have balls big enough to drive my 19 year old Chevy truck to the West Coast and back or if I'm dumb enough to drive a 19 year old Chevy to the West Coast and back.
