Chinese automaker BYD is going to start to sell cheep Plug-in Hybrid cars in Europe and the US in 2011.
And it's being done with the help of U.S. billionaire Warren Buffet

Yup. If the Big 3, 5 whatever . . . don't, then someone else will.

I've actually given my family permission, if I start to consider buying a Chinese made car, to shoot me. I am beyond medical sciences' ability to save me at that point.

China is building a truck plant in Tijuana, Mexico that costs hunnerds of millions, for 2 reasons: To compete with the F-150, and to get around paying import fees from China. No such fees on importing them if they are built in Mexico. 6 thousand dollar full sized pick-ups. Way to go, NAFTA!

How and where does one "recharge" a battery powered car?

Electricity isn't free and if we think that people are going to sit by and let others "plug in" to their outlets, then they will have a rude awakening when the electric bill arrives.

If there isn't an infrastructure to handle this and people just plug in to business outlets, or public facilities, I can see where there will be no more outlets for public use at rest stops, hotels, car wash companies and the list goes on.

There is going to be a cost and it may be higher than a gallon of gasoline.
