View Full Version : Why the Marauder is the best

Alright well I have to say something about My Marauder. This car has been superdependable (is that word?) and I really cannot believe it. Even when I went nuts on this car for performance it's still as great now as it ever was. The only problem I am having is the intake pipe blowing off the throttle body, but I can just fix it the right way when I get back. The only other major issue has been the "wacky wipers" that I have yet to fix because I cannot get the wiper arms off. :o

Even when it was -17 outside it fired up and was ready to go, even with the Procharger. I know it's been said that some engines blow when they are fired up when the weather is so cold (Procharged cars) and I can tell you from my experince it isn't true.

I still feel very safe with this car and maintaining it is almost as easy as a 20 year old Chevy... ask me how I know. It's like the most basic modern car out there, if you wanna call it a modern car.

The car is even good for winter with a good set of tires and a few hundred pounds in the trunk, but this will be it's first and last winter due to how bad salt is and I didn't realise it until this year... really.

I have driven the crap out of this car and nothing ever leaks, breaks or anything. If anything breaks it's some aftermarket part and let me tell you I will never buy a cheap rear end ever again. My only other plans for this beast is fixing the rear end, new racing tires, street tires and I gotta tint those windows.

What a great car. I can't wait to be back in it when I get home in a day or so... how about that??? I miss my car!

My poor Marauder has been holed up since Nov10 & won't be showing her nose out till April. We suffer here in Canada much longer than our American cousins.

Blowers are fine in very cold temps. You just have to let them warm up before giving them any RPM.

Here are my reasons:

-Ford guy, had them all my life. 7 Mustangs, Thunderbird, Lincoln Mark VIII and not the MM.
-Wanted a big sedan with 4 doors
-Wanted a big sedan that could get out of the way when needed
-Wanted a car that has some presence to it... caught attention
-Wanted a safe car

All these things pointed me in the Marauder direction. Sure it has it's little issues... but I will gladly overlook them because I like to see my hard earned money stay in this country, working on cars is a labor of love and I enjoy it and it real is an Icon.

If you find yourself in central indiana dom, ill help you get those wipers off. its pretty easy, assuming the mechanism to get them off isn't broken or warped, lol

If you want I will pick you up for the trip, but you'll need your own room. I was told I snore and sleepwalk... no joke.
