Is this a movie or a book?

I just remembered years ago someone told me about a story that was either a book or small movie that I would love to see. The story is kinda like this: A lead character is wondering on his own trip when he comes to a place full of dead rock stars. People like Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison (my all time favorite singer) and they each hold different positions in town... yet they are all ghosts or something.

Anyone have an idea on this?

I'm currently reading a book on Chuck Berry and a small one on Roy Orbision and would love to add this to my collection!

It is a Stephen King short story, can't remember the name of it. It is a guy and his gal that stop there on a trip.
