Lsc model ....... car was keyed and resprayed at work (bodyshop) and was a "customer pay" deal but customer lost income gave us title so boss wants what he has in it . Looks like Al Albrights in this link exactly http://www.markviii.org/LOD2/1998lsc.htm

Great car but the HID head lights are no longer available along with the drivers seat track or power window switches, and many more items this is the car that first got me started

Not to hijack or anything, but is there any kind of aftermarket or alternative parts to repair/replace these items?
Have been interested in these cars but have heard horror stories about parts.

We bought a black 97 LSC 4 years ago as I was not in a financial position to buy a MM. At first I loved the car but they have a lot of common problems with no real aftermarket help and since they are a 2 year only car with so little interchange with other cars it became a nitemare. Not a car for the masses for sure. The cost to upgrade , paint and refit the car with a nice newer style wheels came out to about the same as it cost me to buy the 03 MM we have so it wasn't even a secound thought to trade up and never look back. We have restored Mopars with less grief.

What kind of engine parts are offered for this aftermarket wise? And it's completely impossible to find headlights? A friend of mine is looking for a car and this may fit the bill. It has a 32V DOHC V8, correct? And what kind of performance wise parts are available?

280hp or 290hp with the LSE package, 0-60 in 7.8
Most things that fit cobra 32v's will fit the mark 8.
I'd assume if the HID's died you could replace em with an aftermarket kit
I've heard many horror stories about the air suspension, when that goes its time for springs.

so better question. which has more potential? A Mark VIII or a 2004 Interceptor? and dependability wise which would you say is better?

The Vic would be way more reliable.
The Mark would be cheaper to make go fast.

What is the overall current condition of the motor and trans? Also is it me or is the DS sideview mirror missing?

body mouldings were removed to paint the car and are in the trunk aswell as the mirrors . Hasnt been put back together like i said the owner couldnt pay so we gave him time and put car upstairs for few months and stated he just cant pay the bill. It needs to be assembled and wet sanded an buffed. Motor and trans seem fine but obviously u do ur own inspection before buying and i do not know the history on the car to tell anything more . If u guys would like vin to CARFAX it lmk .

Are you guys going to complete the body job or is a potential new owner responsible for that?

Help... I know it’s a long shot but I'm really interested in this car. Is there anyone in the IL area that can vouch for this car? Can I get the VIN to do a carfax?

Before you copy and paste, make sure you spell it correctly. It's LSC.

I had a 93 Mark VIII. Fun car. I was going to make it a sleeper and I decided I wanted 4 doors.
Mine had an intake, built trans, T/C, gears, coilovers, gutted cats... it was faster than my Marauder.

I have a friend who just got 1, it cost him $250.00 for the headlights, I guess it was some kind of upgrade.
He got his for $2000 and it only had 60,000 miles. Good luck with the sale.

Would love to have one of these in the stable. Think they are a truly classy car. Anyone want to trade for an 89 F-350? :)
