When and only when its below 25* and the car has been sitting ALL night i go to start it and get a whistling/bearing noise for about 2-5 seconds and poof gone! Never to return untill tomorrow.

Now that its more like 35*-40* it makes a cruntching sound for about 1-2 seconds and poof gone, same as above.

I haven't had a chance to have anyone start it for me but my quesses are leading to one of the tensioners with second guess being an idler pulley (one is already new), and lastly maybe just cold blower noises? There was no noises about two months ago and it was even colder then.

Anyone ever had a simuliar ghost?

Hay one more thing, At night with my lights on mostly at idle my dash lights beat to my loud but stock music. Battery?

I had the exact same dimming problem with my stock stereo system. The dealer replace the alternator twice, the gauges in the center once and spent countless hours doing what not, to come to the conculsion that the "ford engineers" say this is normal..... I mean WTF???? I'm living with it for now

Its been doing that for a longgggg time. Last year right before my Triligy install on only a couple occasions the car almost lost complete electrical sitting at the light, i would hurry up and slam her in neutral give a small rev and poof gone. I don't know if spinning the alt. around backwards fixed her or what because that has never happened again since i did the work.

I was just wondering what causes the dancing lights? They do fit the mood.

My dash lights do that and it bothered me for a while, but I drive with my dash lights dimmed, about half way, so I moved this setting a minute amount, and as you say"poof it's gone".
