Just had my 2000 Hyundai Elantra scanned at Autozone. It came up with P1124 (long term fuel trim error-system lean).
Probable Causes:
1. low fuel pressure-fuel filter plugged
2. failed fuel pump
3. engine mechanical condition
4. large vacuum leak
I'm going to change the fuel filter. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks,
David

Easy stuff first - have you checked all possible vacuum leaks?

Haven't checked anything yet. I'll tear into it tomorrow!

When did you get an Elantra?!?!? I 'spoze it gets better commuting mileage than the Suburban, but I still hope this is part of a plot by you and the boys for a FWD donuts record or doing a jump over the Blazer..

Hmm. That sounds totaled to me.
You better trade it in on a Fusion.

Put in a new fuel filter and reset the DTC. No problems yet!
