Well, I went to the Dallas Auto Show this afternoon and was one of the first general public members to get in; a nice set up and seemed nicer than last years show. I generally start the furthest from the door and work my way back to the front and the exit. Note: I am a man-sized man of 6'2 and pretty broad at the beam so I dont fit in all cars. These are a few of the cars that cought my eye:
Hyundai Genesis Sedan - Wanted to see one of these close up and it seems to be a pretty nice car. Its probably on par with an Infinity or Acura, except its made in Korea so resale probably isnt as good. The Coupe looked pretty nice too but I didnt get in it.
Pontiac G8 GXP - I know I said it was not very wide when I looked at them last week but well, its still a great looking car. 400+ hp and a six-speed manual for about 35k. Some aussie idiosyncracies like a knob to adjust the seatback position but still a real nice car, this one was a metallic red that looked nice. Blaupunkt stereo standard.
Camaro - They actually had about 4 of them, from the basic model to the SS version. I tried to get in it with the seat all the way back but the roofline is waay too low for me to even fit in. Once inside it was like looking out a pillbox window. Some will like it but roofline is way too low for me.
Challenger R/T - I really like this car, plenty of room inside for me. They had one with the new Challenger Classic fake Torque-Thrust wheels that looked fantastic, if you buy one, make sure to get those wheels.
Taurus SHO - Cant believe they just announced it and they had one at the show already. Looks lots longer than the current Taurus but I think its the same wheelbase. Not bad looking but the front end is bulbouse. Looks like a fat Malibu.
Pickups - Chevy, Dodge and Ford all make some great pickups now, they have interiors on the high end ones that are as nice as a Lincoln. The big Tundra doesnt have alot of driver head room compared to the others and it sure looks like a bigger truck to my eyes. Strange.
Mustang - They had the new 2010 one on display and I really liked it, esp the sequential rear turnsignals like the old T-Birds and Cougars. Then the suprise of the night, I sat in the current Mustang GT and was shocked I had plenty of headroom, esp when compared to the new Camaro. Think Mustang GT popped out of nowhere and is now back on my list for possible purchase!
Anyway, that was the show. Over and Out.
