.....is still the Gumball Rally. The 70s edition.

The Camaro on two wheels still cracks me up... the whole movie does.

That's all folks.

Good Night!

No, FAIL, it is Two Lane Blacktop. Followed by Who Killed The Electric Car?, although that is more of a documentary.

Always an interesting thread but it's been done several times. Dom, why don't you go back a make a list of car movies from your previous threads. You can put up a poll of the top ten and let everyone vote. That would at least be a different twist on the subject.

Maybe I can get my buddy to bring his 32 Deuce Coupe tribute car from American Graffiti and have his buddy bring his 55 Chevy tribute car from the same movie to a meet sometime. My buddy likes building movie tribute vehicles and also built a Harley-Davidson and the Marlboro Man bike and is working on his Smokey and the Bandit T/A.His coupe was autographed at a show by the actor who played Milner and by the car's real owner. He met Chuck Zito the actor one day when he was on the Marlboro man bike.Chuck is friends with Mickey Rourke who still has the original bike from the movie.Chuck called Mickey up and told him about the bike and he's supposed to stop by and autograph it and meet my buddy when he's in Chicago, meanwhile my buddy has gotten to be pretty good friends with Chuck Zito.
I'm sure justbob, takedown,Dom and the rest of the Windy City crew would enjoy seeing those vehicles. You may have seen them already on Motor Sports Unlimited on cable access when they've aired Retro on Roscoe from my old neighborhood.

Mad Max is one of the Greatest Car movies of all time.

http://n2.cdn.spikedhumor.com/1/416000/98053_mad_max.jpg
The car started life as a standard 1973 XB GT Ford Falcon Coupe, a car exclusive to Australia

The motor in Max's car may have been a 300 horsepower 351 cubic inch (about 5.7 liters) V8 but there is some controversy (see below). It has a Weiand supercharger that is non-functional. I don't believe anyone has ever made a functional supercharger which can be switched on and off (hmm, I've recently been told that the '88 Toyota MR2 had one). In the movies, the supercharger was actually driven by an electric motor rather than by the engine itself. So, even though it is said in Mad Max (the movie) that the car is 600 hp, it was in actuality only 300 hp. However, if the supercharger was functional, it just might be possible to generate about 600 hp but the engine probably wouldn't last very long.

The Mad Max car looks like they took my 70 Torino GT Sportroof's body and slapped 1969 Talladega front fenders on it with changes to the grille and bumper.
If that thing had a Cleveland in it it wasn't hard to get 450 hp out of a NA motor way back in 1973 without doing head work.
