I read in some of my searches that blue leds will shine through the green film, and the end result would be blue when gauge cluster is on.. Did any 1 hear of this or try this.

as usual thanks for your educated responses

That would be a lot better than the green, I've had way too many years of ford green gauges.

I just bought an extra cluster to try and back light with white. I'll try blue too.

For those that haven't seen what I did. Custom white face gauges that light up white with some green and red markings.

Tell me about it :D and imagine how bright the dash would be if the voltage was up ;)
You guys wouldn't believe the mileage you can get with 2.73's.....

Haven't found any blue leds to try this yet. I have some somewhere but I can't remember where I put them.

So I found a couple of blue leds and tried illuminating a portion of the temp gauge text. I can say for certain that the end result is still green. Not only is it green but it appears to lose a significant amount of light on the way through and looks very dim. I guess if you want blue you will have to have custom gauge faces made. I'm waiting on my white leds to get here so I can try that. It gave my oil and volt gauges a more modern look. I'm hoping for the same with the cluster.

You might want to look at www.putco.com (http://www.putco.com) for LED's, they have a large selection.
