I hear ya about the cash! I plowed for nearly 15 years. I would have been happy for it to snow m-f and 80 on the weekends back then. But that would never happen and i'm burned out from those long day and nights. Good luck, now go make some cash!

Have fun guys, we are sitting this one out. Had February not been almost devoid of snow, this would have been a record snowfall winter here. Still, I've had enough, unless we get the BIG one :D I like those.

We have 5" so far and it's just starting to really pick up. Windy, wet and heavy. They are saying 8-12" buy the morning. We haven't had any all year. Just a dusting in December that lasted about 30 minutes on the ground.

Ah YES! A SNOW DAY. I just rolled over and went back to sleep. Then the other half got up and made fresh biscuits, eggs, and "home cured" bacon.
Power went out here at the house around 11 last night. From that point we were running on our backup generator, until I checked and went back to "shore power" about and hour ago. Great setup, generator (13,000 Kilowatt/50amp) is basically able to power the whole house.

Got 6" so far, I just now saw 4 plow trucks roll by. The first I've seen since about 5-6am.
I tried to head out to work this morning but the traffic wasn't moving anywhere, accidents all over the place and was told I-70 hadn't even been touched in a few hrs so I made it 2-3 miles going about 4-5mph so I just turned around and went back home. I'll have to head out later after the storm ends and they start clearing more stuff. Wish I had a camera person, was having a blast in the local Wal-Mart parking lot.

About 6 inches here too. Plows won't get to my street until 10 PM tonight. The MM is not going anywhere today. If and when I go out -- it'll be in the wife's Freestyle. :D

Plows? What's that? I'm back a 1/2 mile off of the road myself. Got 4x4 SuperDuty and Mariner though, if needed. Also have a ATV to play with also.
We have about 8+ inches here so far.

Man, you guys are wussies.
I drive my Marauder in that crap all the time. 4.10's make it a bit tricky, but the snow tires more than make up for it.

I'm sure glad we don't get much snow here. I haven't used the snow blower in about 6 years. Needless to say, it didn't work. We got about 10-12" of wet heavy snow, and it's just starting quit. I spent about two hours shoveling the parking area by the house before the cavalry arrived (got there lazy buts out of bed) and helped shovel the rest of the driveway. Took about 4 hours all together. Yup, my driveway is way too long. Very thankful for the help! Snow plows took out my mail box again. :shake:
If we had more snow, I think I'd invest in a new (bigger and better) snow blower.

I grew up in Hollywood Florida. It snowed once during my senior year during mid term exams. The principal came over the loud speaker and stopped testing for 30 minutes so everyone could look outside. That was 1977, it was the second snowfall recorded in that town. The previous was in the 1920s.
I was stationed in Brunswick, Maine for three years and summered in Keflavik, Iceland. When I moved in my house, we had to go through the back door. The front of the house was buried up to the second floor. About 10 of my new neighbors came out to help us clear a path to the driveway and front door. Always had great neighbors in Navy/Marine Corps housing. All in all, snow is nice to look at and great for high speed runs down a nearby hill, but sucks to drive in and shovel.

We actually had about an inch or more that stuck to the ground... whoo hoo!
Most of my classmates had immigrated from northern states (me - Monmouth County, NJ) so we had seen the white stuff before. About 10 percent of the class had been born there. My brother still lives in the same house in Hollywood and told me it had dropped to the 50s this winter but was back up to 68 this week and heading back in the 80s next week. Now that's my kind of weather! Just in time for Diane and I to visit Ft Myers in two weeks.

Joe I know what your talking about.
We have a lot more traffic in the area, more miles of roadway to clean, salt, etc. Folks in your area grew up that kind of weather and you all learned to deal with it. That a good thing!
Here in this area we get 2" and it a shutdown:shake:

Well this storm is now history, cold air will arrived for a few days.
It was a good feeling to be back in the "mix" so to speak. A lot of effort goes to running a large snow clearning effort.
Now I look forward to the return of the sun and and some warm breeze's:)
