Hey guys, long time no see -- I'll cut to the chase though, I figured the only people in the world I could ask would be the ones here.

Approximately early January, I had picked up the MM from Town Motors dealership in Englewood, NJ -- where I bought the car. They fixed the power steering which had malfunctioned late in December, and I was on my way.

Less than a week ago, I was driving on the West Side Highway, Southbound going to downtown NY, granted I was hitting the gas a little bit, the car goes to downshift, and all of a sudden I hear. "PSSSSSSSSS"

'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on as well as the light for the battery. Crap.
I am lucky enough to have one of those really small shoulder lanes on my right, so I pull over. The engine will NOT turn over.

Cut to the chase, Alex, OK! Town Motors is telling me that the piston rod broke, and there are pieces of it in the engine. Town Motors is telling me I need a new engine. Town Motors said the car had no oil and there was already damage to the engine, irreparable damage. Now, since I have a second car, I barely drive the Marauder, wouldn't you say that it was in the dealership's protocol to forsee such a big problem?

Now I have to get a new engine install for 4 thousand dollars???????????????

Town Motors is telling me to sell the car as is, and bite the bullet. Please.
I am located in Bergen County, NJ area -- do any of you know any places I can bring my car to fix this debacle, or places I can find an MM engine so I don't have to spend 4 grand? I am calling on the great powers of MM.net....

Search Craigslist, there are used engines on there all the time.

Also, pm 03mmmonroe. He has a complete running engine he may part with.

If you do sell the car as-is, I may be interested.

Same thing happened to me reaper.... Only my replacement motor came out with twice the mileage as my car.

I would see if any action could be taken against Town Motors. How many miles have you put on it? Who did your last oil change?

Also Car-Part.com has salvage motors all the time.

You could find a totaled mach 1 and pull the motor, thats what Dark_Knight7096 did.

So it was avaitor... still Dave was A LOT closer than your Mach1 guess...

Check the Mach1 Registry forum. The guy I am buying the supercharger off of has a complete forged motor he said. He is in Delaware.

Yea, I have an Aviator motor in mine, direct swap just dissasemble to longblock and use your timing chain cover and valve covers and you'll be set.

If I had a job and more money in case I ran into a snag, a Navigator motor would have gone in though.

I'd call them if I was interested and get them to clarify the details of the ad,the picture clearly shows a long block yet 3 or 4 times during the description they call it a short block.Did I read it wrong or miss something?

I dont think people understand the way the terms are meant to be used, short block should be just a block and rotating assembly, long block should include heads, oil pan, maybe an intake/ water pump.

People now use short block to describe an enigne with-out the accesory drives but complete intake to oil pan, go figure. Kar-Kraft has a real good website with lots of used and new motors.

That's the way I always understood the terms short block and long block too.
