No -- the wife and I did not add another little one. We are pretty much done with that and are content now to just enjoy grandchildren.

But ..... my oldest son was promoted to Major, US Army yesterday, 2 March 2009. I am quite proud of his accomplishments thus far in his career. He caught his Dad in a record time of 9.5 years TIS and will no doubt pass me within the next several years. Mom and Dad are quite proud. :2thumbs: His brother and sister are doing rather well in their own selected professions. No parents could ask for more.

Congrats, Chuck!! :congrats:

Charlie,
I am happy for you and your 3 'kids'. I still refer to mine as my kids, but it is such a blessing to watch them grow up, develop, leave the 'nest' and soar on their own! Parents can't have a greater joy!

Thanks gang !! :D He has been a source of pride for his mother and I since he was born. Of course, there was that incident in the kitchen back in 1993 when he was 16 .... but we ain't gonna talk about that.

Father and son on the beach at North Island, Coronado, CA (San Diego) back in October 2008. I am the one with the gut. ;)

Congrats on the great news, I would also like to thank your son for serving our country. In the many years to come, I hope I can say the same... Mine is only seven years old.

Congratulations!
You and your wife are justly proud.
It's great when they do so well. You must have provided a solid foundation.

Great News Charlie! You and Bernie have a wonderful family. Congratulations to the Major. That is quite an accomplishment in that amount of time.

Your pride in Chuck is obviously well founded. And something tells me he's equally proud of you! :)

That is a great post. I hope to instill the same values into my little girl. Who know, maybe the first female Combatives director? She's already got a mean hook!

Thank your son for his service from all of us.
