1995 Aurora???? 1985 Omni????? 1993 Buick Roadmaster wagon??????? Excuse me while I commit suicide. 2003 Marauder made the list - 2004 did NOT! Syclone is there - Typhoon isn't? WTF is so collectible about the 300C? They ONLY made 13,965,773,021 of them.

Look, there isn't a single Stang listed so we know the list is severely flawed.

The list only includes the last 25 years - nothing before 1984.

I don't think there was enough room for all the classic and obligatory collectible stuff there before '84. Every 'Cuda, GTX, Challenger, Camaro, Mach 1 etc.... from the 60's and 70's could add another 100 cars to the list.

Flattered 03s at least made the list, but it is flawed, so let's proceed to make our own lists..I'll kick it off

- 1985 Mercury Capri
- 1987 Buick GNX
- 1988 Pontiac Trans Am GTA
- 1990 Lincoln Town Car
- 1990 BMW 840/850i
- 1994 Chevy Impala SS
- 1998 Lincoln Mark 8 LSC

The Delorean is a good addition. I think the Pantera should be there, as should the SS454 chevy pickup and first-gen Lightning.

Not just an Omni, but a Omni GLH. I'm guessing you guys aren't familiar with it, but I would put the Omni GLHS ("S" for Shelby) on the list instead of the GLH.

Instead of the Pontiac GTA I would put in the 1989 Turbo Trans Am. I believe they used a version of the Buick motor and this car was plenty fast. Alot faster then the GTA.

if you notice, its organized by one car per year, which is why its 2003 marauder and not 2004 also.
99 cougar? Please, i'd replace that with the 99 svt cobra, or put the terminator in the 04 spot. Although the lincoln LSE V8 is a very classy sedan.

The Dodge Omni GLH was fast but got me thinking - it was uglier than a mud fence. If any older fast sleeper Dodge should have been collectible considering its low numbers, the Dodge Spirit R/T was a 224 Horsepower rocket. Remember it?

Based on that list I say we should have been in the top 5. It is chronologically organized. If it were in terms of collectibility, the list might be different.
The three red flags for me are:
-Olds Aurora
-Roadmaster wagon
-99 Cougar

+1 So, Where is the Corvette, any corvette, remember the one with the DOH cam's that's worth about a gazillion bucks; or the Ford GT? What about the Shelby Mustangs, like for instance, the GT500 KR??

The 99 Cougar was an abortion on so many levels with seats that make lawn chairs appealing. Only the geriatric crowd collects Buick Roadmasters and the Aurora is collected ------at GM service centers. There, that baby is put to bed.

Part of the problem with 'top 10' type lists is that they're purely subjective. Noone will ever come up with one that's "right."
but a Grand Am? really? come on....

Those in Bold are probably not even in the top 50. Yes I bolded 04 because we do not need two years of the Marauder.
I could replace all those with Mustangs that are more collectible:
1986 SVO
1993 Cobra
1993 Cobra R
1994 Indy Pace Car Cobra
1995 Removable Hardtop Cobra
1995 Cobra R
1996 Mystic Cobra
2000 Cobra R
But if we wanted to add some variety and replace all of the 8 above with non Mustangs but domestics here are some others to think about:
1993-95 Ford Lightning
1991 Syclone
1992-93 Typhoon
1992 Dodge Viper
1990-1995 Corvette ZR1
1996 Corvette Grand Sport
2002 Pontiac Trans AM WS6 Pace Car
2004 Corvette Z16
8 Others that are Not Domestic:
1988-1993 BMW M3
1988 190E Mercedes Benz 2.5 Cosworth
1993 BMW M5
1996 Mercedes Benz C36
1997 Porsche 911 Turbo S
1998 Toyota Supra Turbo 6spd
2001 Integra Type R
2008 CLK 63 Black Edition

You probably should eliminate the 1999 Cobra because it was, excuse the expression, a POS. There was a big lawsuit over claimed HP, and the new IRS simply failed. The later S/C Cobras were sensational and should be included on any list. I had a '97 Cobra, but the '04 Mach-1 was by far a more desirable car.

IMHO, I'd throw in mid 80's Thunderbird Turbocoupe. Decent performance and good gas mileage out of 4 cylinders.
World of difference between the 82 and 83 TBirds.

There is no "top 5" in this list. Just one spot for 2004, one spot for 2003, one spot for 2002, and so on. I guess 1993 was a terrible year for collectible cars. Even the author of the list implies so (found by clicking item #1 in the article):
Picking one from each year is tough, as a number of collectible nameplates spanned several years, while some years go begging for decent representation.
Btw,
1999: GM EV1
Some universities and museums have already collected what they could.
