Raining cats&dogs here, with thunderstorms. Thought I took care of any flooding by opening up the catch basin earlier. Coming in under the damn sidewalk and wall. Ground is still snow covered and frozen. Nothing I can do about it but keep shop vaccing it up every 1/2 hr or so. Oh my aching back...

Can you dig out anything nearby and slam a sump pump in it? Maybe even rent a partnersaw and cut yourself out a hole in the garage floor in the corner for one. Atleast you wouldn't have to babysit it.

Bummer. It was in the 70's here today, I was sweating under the car working on the transmission. You ought to get a sump pump.

Thanks guys. Right now I'm keeping up with it. I like the sump pump idea. I think my father inlaw has a spare and I have some 1" black piping

Checked the weather radar, looks like alot of the rain is sliding north of us up the Mohawk Valley so I may get a reprieve.

There are some portable ones that just sit on the floor, and use a garden hose for an outlet, fairly cheep at the big box.

Mornin' Ray. How goes it?

Mornin Sis, got up at 1115 and hurting. The last time I vac'd the garage was at 0530. It was ok at 0600 so I went to bed. No standing water out there now :D Weather man says this would have been the "big one" for the winter had it been snow.

Yep, their calling for a 80% chance of snow here tomorrow. It at least appears that the heavy duty part of winter is over, knock on wood. April 1 for my DTR to be back on the road is looking good.

I gots some standing water puddles allover the yard now... we got like 2 inches of rain last night.

Thats right after we had all the snow melt this week, so the ground is already soaked here in iowa....

It better not turn out like last year!!

+1 on that. Same here. Had yesterdays rain been snow we would have gotten 24"+ Well, at least I can see bare ground in spots here, like under the large pine tree in the side yard and I can see my picnic table again.

Send a train of empty tank cars here and take all you want,we've got a bunch of flooded streets and if the rain doesn't quit soon we'll have flooded homes again when the rivers rise some more.Rumor has it a periscope was spotted in a flooded viaduct,Homeland Security is still checking on that.
