I have noticed in the past that some you out here smoke out your tail lights even more than from the factory. How is this done? Any idea on cost?

Thanks

Each to his own.Having been rear ended at least 3 or 4 times in my cars,(the last guy hit me twice,he must've been driving two footed and stomped the gas instead of the brake after he hit me the first time and actually hit me harder the second time) and twice on my Harley's I'm a big fan of having lots of big bright brake lights.if you ever see the back of my bagger in person you'll see what I mean. When it's dark out and I hit the binders on the bike the view from behind me looks like I hit the afterburner on an F16.And I'm going to put some more lights back there and on the side rails.
Out of all the stupid driving habits people have I hate tailgaters most of all,I've got the whiplash I live with every day to remind me.

I gave mine to a painter with a $50 tip and he laid a flawless black-tinted laquer clearcoat that is amazing. I have VHT but it sits unused.

Is ebay the only place to get this? Thanks for all of you input. I have a crown vic I am using as a daily driver to keep miles off of MM. I have made some changes to the outward appearance but noticed the tail lights were not as tinted on the cv as the mm. The cv is what I am trying to change.

I picked up a spare set of P71 taillamps on eBay and had Jon's Tinted Tails tint them to a level of my liking.

I have been pulled over probably 5 times since I have had my lights tinted, most times were for speeding and got warnings. I have never been even remotely questioned about my tinted lights.

The lights are easily visible when they are turned on even in the daylight hours, brakes, turn signals, everything.

I'll try to post some daylight pics later tomorrow.

Just when everyone is talking about how cool they are, I am thinking of getting rid of my tinted taillights.

I just bought the spray can. I need to put it on... I am so lazy sometimes. I have a question though and please forgive me if I am being foolish, "Should I tape everything off around the tailights and spray it on or should I take the lens off the car completely?

Take off the tail lights, they are only 3 nuts each IIRC, and a couple bulbs.

I just took some night time pics. and a video. When I get some daylight pics. I'll get them all posted.

They do look nice but I cant get the logic of making darker taillights, I dont really want to get rearended. I'd also be concerned that if I was rearended, the insurance company wouldn't try to weasel out of paying because of my tinted brakelights.

I like the sinister look, you can actually see them on a bright day, but if someone is behind me NOT paying attention, ex. texting, makeup, phone call... I can see a BOOM happening!

My only problem with them is that my WHOLE CAR is black. If my windows weren't tinted as dark as they are, I'd be keeping mine. They look bad-to-the-bone, especially at night. I just need a little red to match my calipers.

Here are my pics.

The first 2 are just the lights on, 3rd is in reverse, 4th is lights on in the day, and last is brake lights on in the day.
