oh it's only a buick regal

and oh yeah somebody monkeyed around and did some aftermarket modifications that certainly voided the warranty and they probably did a slapdash job:

That thing is sweet, but no way is it worth that much when our cars keep depreciating the way they are.

I totally dislike it when a car isn't used. What a waste.

I had no idea a American car stickered for that kind of coin in 1987. Wow.

The GNX is a rare care. Just a little over 600 made (can't remember the exact no.) It was the fastest factory production car of it's day. Yes, it would beat a vette.

They didn't sell for $30K either...they were snapped up by GN fans/collectors and they all sold for well above sticker.

Annihilate Vettes actually.
My college roommate had a 1986 GN that was mildly modded and it would destroy Vettes back in the day....and eat my '85 5.0 GT for lunch!...:(
I would kill him out of the hole with my 5 speed and then watch my mirror as he got full boost and came by me like a freight train in 2nd gear!
That '86 GN was such a blast...NO ONE knew what it was.
They often wanted to know how he got a "Monte Carlo to run so fast!?!?"
They really lost it when he told them it was a V6 Buick!
BTW: I wouldn't buy that GNX even if I had the coin...It is a automotive museum piece....Too pretty to drive and put mileage on.

I thought that # was in the mid 500 range, I could be wrong. I remember seeing one of those on the showroom floor at a dealer I worked at, thought the wheel flares made it ugly, if I only would have known.......

9 miles in 22 years! How do you just not want to drive it? Like on the highway or at the track? It wouldn't have 9 miles on it for long in my garage.

That car has been around awhile now. Ive seen it in jalopnik ect... A hell of a nice car and a GNX is the top of the GN heap but I could think of lots of other cars to buy for that kind of money and as strictly as an investment you could do better. 50-60k seems more correct for me on that one.

Total production numbers were 547 cars, each receiving it's own numbered dash plaque.
And GNX #001 is still owned by GM and makes car show appearances once in a while.
I have seen it a couple times at WWDC and once at a St. Ignace, MI car show.

At least for now...In their current state GM will probably sell it on Ebay to scratch up some more $$$.
:(
I'd shred the back tires off that thing. It wasn't built to be stared at, it was built to be driven.
