Just dropped the car off at the dealership. I had a nice conversation with the service manager and we spoke about the uneven tire wear and mercurys response. The just of the conversation was the dealer was told by their rep there is no known problem with marauders wearing out their tires unevenly. No known complaints and no fixes. They (the dealers rep)restated it was an alignment issue or inflation issue. I was told if there was only one complaint, nothing would be done... but if all of our members experencing problems complained... maybe ford would take notice.
This is the dealership i forwarded our (mm.net) musings to in reference to our uneven tire wear and possible solutions. The dealership was interested in finding a solution to our problem, but they dont work on marauders. (just a few) But, one thing i found interesting was the fact the dealership took the time to read mm.net and gave me the impression we as a club could make a difference. He metioned something about the svt discussion group or something like that.
Anyway, i called mercury and complained about the uneven tire wear and the dealer not having the proper tools to do the work. I was refered to one of my local svt dealerships for an alignment. My mercury dealer is interested in hearing what svt has to say about this. I will get the alignment specs from svt prior to them making any changes, and forward this to my dealer and mercury. My arguement is basiclly if my car is now within all specs, (alignment and pressure) and i have worn my tires unevenly. They should replace my tires and fix the problem. It shouldnt be the customers problem if i am following all their rules and still have problems.
Well, thanks for listening to my rants and raves. The other reasons i took my car into the dealer was my headrests not properly affixing, and my passenger seat leather seating surfaces not staying snapped into place onto the seat frame. The little plastic clips that hold my leather together are all unhooked and wont stay when i put them together. Also, my car has the dreaded rear suspension squeak. And last but not least my passenger side window stopped working for a couple of hours yesterday. Ok, thanks again and have a nice day.
