So, I'm driving through a parking lot to get to the dry cleaners to pick up some clothes. Being the car lover who loves to protect his suspension, I'm driving around the speed bumps in the parking lot. I get around the 2nd speed bump and I hear *thunk* *whooooooooooooooooooooooosh* I look out the back of my car and there's a big cloud of dust/smoke/something coming out of every inch of my trunk lid. I pull over and dial up Marauderman because I have a good feeling I know what happened. He tells me to cautiously open my trunk, so I pop it, and another huge cloud comes out, then I stand off to the side and open it the rest of the way and I find this:

At least it was nothing mechanical. That'll clean up with a little time and patience.

I had that happen to me in my squad car at work. I had all my police gear in the trunk as well. Good times cleaning all that up.

I was thinking about doing preventative fire-proofing to my trunk too. Seriously - pull the trunk liner out and hose it off. Let it dry, most of the stuff will vacuum out or wipe off with a wet towel.
That really sucks! In the Navy we used PKP, basically the same crap. A thousand times finer than baby powder, also destroys electrical components because of the Potassium in it.

Remove the trunk lid/deck and drive at night on some back roads and air it out:)
Could have been a smoe kind of liquid, and that would be a mess:puke:

That, or maybe taken it out after ILM (I know, hindsight).
Maybe worth a call or a trip to your local:

Let me first commend you for the foresight to have a fire bottle in your car. $35 investment up front could work out to be priceless in the future. The powder should vac out rather easily. I lost my last bottle at the track. Some cretin ran over my tool bag, where it was stored, and cracked it. Next time, for you, leave it in the box it can in. It's only a second or 2 to remove it at a fire, and the box provides a layer of protection against un-intended discharge.
