Both high and low beams went out on me upon startup this evening.

Checked the fuses - all is good.

No other electrical issues.

All other lights (signal, brake, fog, back, etc.) fine.

What next?

Sound like the LCM (Light Control Module) has gone south.

That's what I was hoping it wasn't.

Don't panic...there a thread on repairing the module yourself. It's fairly easy and keeps about $600 in your pocket.

I think I posted this before, but the "shadetree" way to confirm the LCM is suspect is when the lights go out, smack the area of the LCM (not hard enough to actually break the plastic trim) and if the lights come back on, it's 99.9% going to LCM. You can actually hear the relay click back on when you do it.

Believe it or not - tap on the LCM while the lights are switched on and generally they WILL come on. It happened to mine and scared the hell out of me. To anyone that doesn't know - the LCM is located just under the driver knee bolster, above the GO pedal. I drive a wrecker and WILL salvage LCM's out of any Panther I tow that is a complete loss. Probably give them away at picnic raffles.
