I remember well the death of real NASCAR (as I enjoyed it) was caused by the introduction of the RWD 2 door Taurus. Man I wish NASCAR would have played hardball and made Ford race the Lincoln or nothing. The CoT is a nice safe spec racer but 1996 was the last year cars looked like real cars.

I enjoy the Rolex series of SCCA racing because its more like NASCAR used to be. They actually use the production bodies and add safety equipment.

You don't enjoy watching cam-in-block 350cid V8 RWD Camrys run around the track!?!?!
Talk about stock...they are slightly modded, right off the Toyota showroom floor hot rods!
I can't wait for the Prius model to debut at Darlington!

IMHO: NASCAR's last hurrah was when the Thunderbirds and Monte Carlos disappeared.
At least you could tell what kind of car was running on the back stretch.
