Gas prices jumped up from 1.86 for reg this morning to 2.08. Did I miss something or is the Govt. bailing out the oil industry too???

The current excuse is "Refinery Capacity is below 85%". Which MIGHT drive the price up because inventories MIGHT be reduced if there is a sudden demand for refined gasoline.

In other words, a fly sh-t on a pipeline in Sudan, and everyone pays.

Around here alot more gas stations have TWO signs...cash and credit...maybe it was the credit prices? :dunno: Also, I have notice one station I pass all the time changes their prices thru out the day...cheap early in the morn, higher most the day, then back to low at night.

Exactly. There was a collision between a submarine and an amphibious ship in the Straight of Hormuz a couple days ago. It was minor and the straight remained open -- no blockage of oil tanker traffic. However, the opportunity to raise oil prices presented itself and it was moving upward within 15 minutes of the incident. Must have taken your station a little while to get the word. :o

I have been paying near $2.08 for Sunoco 93 for a couple of weeks.

The $2.08 here in Louisville is for 87. Add $0.20 for 93.

Bastidges.

That was pretty serious! It could have led to war between the US Navy and . . the . . .US Navy . . ?

yesterday the stock market jumped like 500pts or something and that is why oil jumped as well, oil is only down because the stock market is so bad (least that's what they say). It's sort of funny everyone wants stocks to go higher but the moment they do oil will go up as well and then we will be right back to where we are... guess it would be funnier if it wasn't affecting me.

Certainly will be pretty serious for at least one if not both of the Captains. The US Navy only has 2 hard-and-fast rules:

1. Don't stick anybody with the pointy end.
2. Don't touch the bottom

Crude closed at $53.80 yesterday. It has increased about 30% in March. Welcome warm weather and increased driving.

Last time I filled up it was $2.09 a gallon for 93, next day it was $2.18. Price of 93 has been bouncing between $2.18 and $2.24 around my way.

You guys don't know how good you have it!! I paid $.905 CDN per litre today for Sunoco 94 ($3.62 CDN/US gallon) and that is the cheapest price I have paid yet. It was over $1.50 CDN per litre ($6 CDN/US gallon) at the peak last year.

Too bad we can't find anybody who knows how to "drive" a one billion dollar
(submarine) warship!

Gotta Love it!

It's all about "change" and "hope" of course. Don't forget about $4+ gas prices under the previous administration...
