I was looking at the Intake, and Cams from Nazty Performance would these benefit an NA car? And what kind of numbers am i looking at gaining from this? What mods would help these two?

Yes it would.

There are all kinds of threads on Modularfords.com about his results, about 19 hp....16 tq iirc, That may have been on an sc car though, but you can go there and do a search and find it...... oh.... wait... no you can't....

well, Naz has a website, you should be allowed on there, Mike!

here you go...... http://www.naztyperformance.com/

Naz charges about $400.00 to do an intake.
Cams cost a grand at LEAST, then you need them installed.... with new springs that can take the lift, Livernois has them at $400.00 a set or so....

You still need a good exhaust......

Good point Rich. Without an good flowing exhaust the upgraded heads do little good.

At the end of the day...... $$$$ all add up....
To what? 60-75 hp? So you'd be about 300-315 rwhp?
Maybe..... not bad mind you, but you've spent 3 grand even if you do the work yourself.

You s/c the car, and spend $4500.00-$6500.00.... and get 150rwhp more? putting you in the 400 rwhp range.

These are just estimates from my feeble old mind.

you forgot labor on the cams and springs... also where did you find an aggressive enough cam and spring combo for a N/A 4V for those prices? And what about valves? are you gonna run the stock valves with all that work?

You put in cams that have a powerband close to 7000 rpm and you'll lose a lot of low end torque. It'll be a dog off the line and driving on the street.

Are you sure that's not a s/c car and they added a pulley or something too?
Cut and paste what you read for us, Mike.

19RWHP/16RWTQ

Stock Eaton, stock pulley, 10+ Deg AIT2 temp reduction after the the WOT pull.

That's with the intake ported only. Nice numbers for $400.00 plus the labor for sure! But NOT an NA car.

Ok... now to find the numbers Mike posted.....

Ok.... here:

Just in:

+15RWHP @ 5250RPMs
+8RWHP @ Peak RPMs
+52RWHP @ 6850 RPMs!!!!!!!!!

This is OVER a ported intake!!!

We are static!!

More to come!

Naz

Now for the set up:

The combo was:

304CI Big Bore
FR500 Cams
Ported Intake

The only change was the ported intake for the Ported Short Runner.

91 Octane "California" crap gas
20* of Timing

They only ran it to 6850RPMs, power was not even dropping. Flat as a table!

Some sick gains!

So, big bore and cams, more than likely a free flowing exhaust, so the intake freed up the air flow.
Nice.

Be careful with aggressive aftermarket cams. MarauderTJA went through 2 sets of cam chain gears after they broke at idle. Big $$$$ repair.

What is up folks!

Seen some good arguments here and I just wanted to drop my .02.

The intake that made 52RWHP was on an ALL MOTOR combo. 304CI, FR500 cams (which are very small).

We offer 2 types of intakes for the 4V. A ported, cut plenum and TIG welded (stock runner lenght) and a Ported Short Runner...custom runner lenght and plenum volume.

The ported/cut plenum we have seen gains up-to 18RWHP on all motor, bolt-on applications and on the Ported Short Runner we have seen 52RWHP gains with no loses down low!

Our cams, when matched to the right combo will bring power all across the power band with no loses down low. When you over can its when you will see cars with crappy power bands.

Our cams are not off the shelf pieces...they are custom ground to YOUR application.

Same thing with the head work!

We just installed a ported intake on a Marauder, gained 2 MPH in the 1/4...no other changes! lol! Everything else...stock!

We are going to do a Ported Intake, LTs, CAI, Mid Pipe, 4.10s and Tune on another Marauder and should run pretty strong!

The key with making power with these 4Vs is well matched combos! You dont do your home work.....you will not make the right power!

Hell...we just made 537RWHP all motor on my own daily driver 4V...... on a 4.6 based motor!
