Ok guys, I"m chasing a electrical issue, I'm down to the Ignition Switch. The vehicle doesn't turn over when in the "start" position, and I'm trying to figure out which posts on the switch make contact when in the "start" position??? Anyone?

Test with a volt meter...

OK, but what I need to find out is when in the start position, which I accomplish by pulling the slide lever with my hand as if I was cranking it over, what posts should I test for continuity?

Ford ignition switches don't go bad, I have a spare to prove it. Mine drove me nuts, I finally had it towed to the dealer, and they replaced the radio static filter, and the knock sensor wiring. Could have fooled me.

Just check at the starter to see if it's getting a crank signal.

I have and its not... I'm not getting juice to the starter relay even or to fuse #26, next in line is the ignition switch.... I'm getting overwelmed with this... But I'll die before I bring it to my stealership, man I hate those guys....

You wouldn't mind parting with it would you? Just need to plug one in and check.... Don't know how the dealer feels about parts return...

I left the new one in when I did it, hot wire the connector, it's cheaper, they aren't that expensive anyway, $12. Duralast PN LS615. The wiring diagram would help, but I don't have one. Mine blew, (i think) fuse #8 also, check it. The no power to the starter was the reason I bought the switch, wasn't it, the problem is between the starter and the switch.

I'm confused, you mean the relay? I'll run check the fuse..

Nope fuse is fine, along with a host of others I checked for the fun of it. I'm going to recheck the power at the starter relay again in the morning when I have someone to turn the key....

Ok, one question, how does the power go from the ignition switch to the underhood fuse box? By looking at the diagram I can only think of two wires, which would be the ONLY two that get power supplied to them when the switch is in the "start" position.
Red/lightblue (STA)
OR
LargeGreen/Violet (I2)
But I can't seem to find them comming into the underhood fuse box.... Anyone have a diagram for the underhood fuse box to figure out which wire it is? Here I thought it would be easy and it would go to one of the three "ignition" fuse's or the "ignition" Relay. But nope, none of the wires matched, and I ran a continuity test from the two wires mentioned above that are supplied power to the fuses/relay and nothing....
now I'm lost again....idea's?

If you have the factory DVD manual you would find these in the EVTM section, but they are tricky to navigate if you aren't familar with Ford's terminology.
