My mother was admitted to a hospital back home in Rochester, NY on Thursday morning with suspected peumonia. A hour later my sister called and said she was in ICU on a ventilator. We drove in that day and stayed with her until early evening. She was doing well and the doctors said her prognosis was very good as they caught the peumonia early on. She was ok yesterday.

I just received a call from my sister that Mom had a heart attack overnight, but everything is normal now. (?) I'm not really sure what to think at this point. The coincidence is that my father died in the same hospital on 04/07/93, Tuesday of Holy Week that year. This coming Tuesday is 04/07, during Holy Week... Too much of a coincidence for me.

Please keep my dear mother in mind when you pray. I believe in the power of prayer and we need your help. Thank you, Ray-jay

Strong Memorial?

Originally, then transferred to Highland due to a lack of room in Strong's ICU. Highland is now a part of Strong.

Thank you all for the prayers. Not having much luck in getting info from the attending personnel. Dreading having to drive/ride out there again. :bigcry:

I am praying for your Mom, and you.

I can certainly understand what you are going through. But if she decides to join her husband on the same day that he passed, what a wonderful thing that would be for them.

Again, thank you all for the prayers. They are helping. Mom is in guarded, but stable condition. The best sign is she wants to eat, but of course can not.

Update, unfortunately my Mom has taken a turn for the worse. Her kidneys are not functioning adequately and she is not responding to the medical personnel this morning. Maybe a byproduct of the heavy duty drugs they have her on.

Thank you all. Its comforting to know you folks care. My older children are driving in to see their Grandma. This afternoon Mom indicated to my sister that she did not want to continue on the ventilator indefinately. We have a family meeting with her medical team on Friday. She has been like a cat with 9 lives in the past. Not so sure this time.

Just reading this all for the first time, Rayjay.

Psalm 18:2, brother. And whenever it is that she leaves this life, she goes on to glory, joining the cloud of witnesses and saints. Your father is included in that crowd!

Ray you have my condolences, but (and I know your family has already discussed this) maybe it is her time to leave this life behind; being alive because of a machine is not living. Be strong for now is the time to make her as comfortable as possible and show her how much you care.

That is the plan if she can not breath on her own.

He conquered death, He rose from the grave. Your mother has also risen, and is joining the multitudes in praise. Mourn for your loss, but celebrate her newfound joy and peace.

Blessings, brother.
