Just an Update. Some of you may know that my wife and I had to pull out of the Louisville, KY event unexpectedly about a day earlier than planned. While touring Churchill Downs, my wife got a call that her brother had been taken to the hospital in Baltimore and was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). We headed east & north immediately.
Well it has been a week. He is still in the ICU. Congestive heart failure, respiratory failure and kidney failure are all working on him simultaneously. He's a real fighter and isn't giving up the fight. His doctor decided to start dialysis yesterday in hopes of eliminating one problem so that they can better address the other two. Naturally he is extremely weak; but still in surprisingly good spirits considering the seriousness of all of the problems.
He is well attended at the hospital by his family and four brothers and sisters. Request that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers since I believe that he is gonna need all the help that he can get from medical science, here and above to make it though this.
BTW --- Paul is a Vietnam Veteran and former GM employee at the Broening highway plant in Baltimore. He made Chevy's and drove Pontiacs and had one of the sweetest '68 Firebirds when I started dating his baby sister. My first "meet the older brother" session with him was rather interesting and uncomfortable to say the least. We are on much better terms now. :D
