What is a good Pool Cue Company?

I was playing pool the other night with my girlfriend and I said something that made her mad so she threw down a cue and broke it. We need a new set anyway so what is a good company for these products?

The conversation that led to the distruction went like this:

Her: "You must think I am a big fat cow." *About to take a shot

Me: "No, cows don't ware jeans."

Her: "You knnnnnnnnow!" *Screws up shot, throws down cue and breaks it.

I am making her pay for it, but if we can find a set at a decent price she will pay 1/4 or 1/5 if it includes a bridge. I am new to the game and am getting decent, but I have no idea what is a good company and what is downright cheap.

It is called a Billiard cue not a 'pool cue'.

The best stick is in the hands of the guy who won. So the key is practice and a good strategy. If your playing for money, better not to walk in with an expensive cue, it scares away the competition. Or worse yet, pisses them off. You'll be more consistent with your own cue but I would not overdue it until your really good and playing well in competitive tournaments. Go with something straight, solid, and properly balanced. What that is, I'll leave up to you.

Lots of factors involved, (1) time playing (age), no matter how good you think you are, your NOT ! (2) Some where, some one, you will run into will be better ! For starters find the weight your comfortable with, and stick to it. Then shot till your about 50 years old, and spend a ton on a named two piece cue, and tote (case). Now remember rule #(2) !! and you should be ready. ;)

See I am new to this. Almost everything I have dealed with has good and bad companies epseically with guitars since we are pretty much talking about wood. I know some cues are made out of a different material, but I was planning on staying with wood.
