John, you beat me to it! My Canucks clinched the Northwest Division on the last game of the season, but I'm not sure it was the best thing playoff wise as we match up better against Chicago. Now we've drawn St. Louis....the hottest team since the all-star break. I predict we win it in 6 though.

As much as I love my Flames I think we are in trouble. No "D" left,everyone is hurt and we have a poor track record against Chicago with a health team. My prediction is to win one game at home and then go golfing.

I am in no way saying the Canucks are gonna be a push over for who ever they play..... But I do think they are missing a few pieces that would put them over the edge. For instance...... Their power play, they did get a few PPG's against the Blue's but they were flukes. If they get their Power play worked out they will be a scary team!

St. Louis has always been a big hockey town. Seeing the entire 19K people in the Scott Trade on thier feet was awesome. My budy was there and he said you couldn't even hear it was so loud. If they keep the line up they have now for next year they will tear it up.

They gave Luongo a work out. Read on SI that he needed IV fluids after the game.

BTW... if you look at the play, Brodeur was out of the crease and he initiated the contact. I think Brodeur should get a one game suspension for his actions after the game as he was going off the ice.

After last night's stick throwing temper tantrum caught the attention of the hockey world, as well as the NHL league office, everyone is now well aware of Brodeur's dilemma, as well as his cause. He feels like the Hurricanes are crowding him and he wants more room. His "show" last night had very little to do with the one single play by Jussi Jokinen, and much more to do with the Hurricanes offensive philosophy. The team said after game three that they would have to create more traffic in front of Brodeur and that's exactly what they did. Brodeur does not like it, so this is his counter-move.

If the refs start calling more goalie interference penalties, you can give the goalie an Academy Award.

One might ask, if Brodeur was truly incensed about an infraction on the play, why did he wait until after the goal review to throw his tantrum? Why not complain to one of the refs immediately after the play? Instead, he waited until after the delay. (perhaps planning the whole move in the process?)

This is not the first time the goalie has met this kind of controversy. Just last year the league had to create a new rule when Sean Avery was facing Brodeur in front of the crease in order to block his view and antagonize him. The majority of us sided with the goalie at the time because the move by the New Yorker was so outrageous. But maybe there was a method to Avery's madness? Perhaps he felt that he had to face Brodeur so that the goalie would not bump him from behind and claim there was interference? Maybe he was tired of getting slashed in the back of the legs with his back turned?

If you are a Caniac there is one good thing about the hoopla. Brodeur might be more worried about what the refs are doing, than what the Canes are. Perhaps Carolina has gotten into the future Hall of Famer's head? That worked pretty well for the Rangers last year.

Either way, place your bets on that interference call for Thursday night, because you know it's coming."

I am not sure if the match will ever come to fruition...but Gage and I just matched the Ducks and the Caps in two full games in a playoff setup on NHL2K9.

Gage and his Ducks lost game one 4-3 and I and my Caps lost in the last 59 seconds of game two 1-2.

Would love to see this match in reality.

yeah. thats my wife and i at fenway to see the sox and sox play in 2005. chicago lost. but i got to see carl everett hit a homer over the green monster!!!funny how every game i went to in 2005 the white sox lost!!:confused: fenway is awesome!!! i went to yankee stadium this past september too to see the white sox and yankees. sox lost!!! but i was there with my dad who is a big yankees fan. yankee stadium was very cool and did the tour, but fenway rules!!!

The NHL needs a guy like Ovechkin! The level of play is better than ever, but there are very few characters or unpredictable entities anymore. Cookie cutter break-outs and the dump and chase gets old. Guys who can skate, handle the puck and mix it up like Ovechkin are one in a generation. Crosby can be slowed down, not neutralized, by some hard physical play. Ovechkin just gets better when he has a bulls-eye on his back. My prediction: Caps win series 4-2.

End of the 1st period Ducks fans....holy crap what was Brown thinking when he broke Hudler's FACE! The previous ownership regime called itself Orca Bay. It was an absentee owner...John McCaw of Microsoft fame lived in Seattle. Some say that that logo was simply just a corporate logo and not really representative of the Canucks (there are no orcas anywhere near the waters in BC unless they get lost and trapped in the bay. Its like if Wal mart bought the team and put a big "W" on the jersey. The logo was of a native design. Now we have a local owner who is taking it back to our roots from when we first broke into the league in 70-71.

I sure hope so!!! I'm very disapointed in their play of late, too much standing around and waiting for the play to come to them! They need to attack the puck and win some battles on the boards. I have 4 tickets to Sundays game, they're on craigslist, I don't wanna risk seeing them lose while I'm there.

Is this the general feeling in Chicago about the Hawks? Is anyone excited over there? Thats a pretty talented, high octane, young team you got there. Should be going deep in the playoffs for years to come.

im probably one of the few who feel the way i do about the hawks. the town and media are going crazy over them and for good reasons.
