When was the last time you changed your plugs!?

Appearently whoever owned my truck before me, thought it was cool to leave in old nasty plugs. These things are probably from the 90's!

I did mine at 85,000 without a problem... they were easy to do!

Plugs are cheap. I change mine once a year.

One of my clients was having a nasty misfire in their 1993 Acura Legend with 283k miles on it and they bought it brand new. I asked them when was the last time the changed the spark plugs, their reply "Never always thought those mechanics were going to try to get over on me and charge me out wazoo" I just stood there and shook my head.

I've even came across people who have never put air in their tires since owning their vehicle which was brand new, most were 2-3 yrs old. Tires were low enough to really see they were low. Again just stood there and shook my head.

I used to (pre-blower) change my stock Motorcraft plugs every year regardless of mileage. Then again I am hard on the car in all regards.

Zack put NGK plugs in after the blower install, but I will probably change those every two years (roughly 4-6k per year).

I use NGK TR6IX, which I'll be changing sometime soon. NGK recommends they be replaced every 60k miles if the vehicle is driven hard, 100-120k miles under normal driving.

Note on those highlighted Bosch plugs... I've heard from a few folks that they don't recommend them as they've heard quite a few tales of the extra tips either breaking off within the engine, or only one of the tips actually conducting power as the others were gapped too far away (compared with the one giving spark). I haven't used them, but I thought I'd toss it out there.

i pulled some similar plugs outa the ranger not to long ago. they had to be the original.
