I really don't know, but maybe someone can tell me how much is a sub 20k MM short block worth?

Under 1000. Say $800? You can get stock Mach 1/Aviator short blocks pretty cheap.

That's what I'm thinking, John.
But the "Banker" wants me to examine all the "expenditures vs assets" items.....

If I buy a new short block for XXXX then what could I get for YYYY to offset the $$$$......

I understand as the banker tells me that also. Its the future savings that come into play here! Pray that you do not need it in the future as the banker starts asking questions you do not want to answer! Beware of whos on first.:argue:

I have the short block, actually a long block, Dave..... I'm considering just using the heads and timing gear on a new HD short block and selling the stock SB..... but John's point is valid.....

My other option is to place a forged reciprocating assembly in the sb I have..... which $ wise seems to be "iffy" as the complete units are not far off once you include machining and balance.

I would buy the built one from a good builder and have the heads installed at the same time. This take the guess work out of it.

Did you hurt the heads when the old one let go Rich?
