Any Boston Red Sox fans on this site? I was born and raised in New England - lived there for 30+ years. I'm living in AL now but still love the Sox. I watch about 90% of their games, thanks to the MLB package offered through Direct TV. I usually make it to Fenway once every summer. GO SOX!!!

I am a fan... They look pretty decent this year!

BTW: Loved the spanking the Yankees got the other day!

Yes, that was great! 22-4, I think! I agree that the Sox look pretty good this year. Their bats seem to be heating up a bit. I'm not in a hurry for Lugo to return. Youk is amazing, as always. He gets beaned in the head and comes right back the next day with a multiple hit/rbi game with great defense.

Another Red Sox fan checking in.

How about Youk last year when he practice fielded a ball into face right around his eye.

You beat me to it^^^^^^^^^

The Sox are picking up the pace, it would be great to see a min. of 3 teams in the AL East battling for first place over the span of the whole season.

Go Jays!!

Yeah, the Jays look good so far this year. I can't argue with that!

I guess a rivalry is good for baseball but the rest of the country could give a damn about the Red Sox/Yankees.

Another Sox guy here. It's sucks to be a New Englander though, we expect to much because we're spoiled when it comes to sports. But hey, I like being the elite. :D and we're good at it! GO BRUINS!

You're welcome! Manny's great - one of the greatest of all time. It was time for him to go though. He was bringing the team down in a big way.

He's tearing up the ball here in LA and has become VERY popular with the fans. I even bought the dreadlock wig w/LA bandana at the stadium last week. :rasta:

What exactly happened in B town?

Too funny with the wig!

He basically shut down for the season. He was bad mouthing the ownership, etc. He was more concerned with contract negotiations than with making it to the playoffs with his team. He wasn't running out ground balls - stuff like that. We used to say "that's Manny being Manny". It just got to be too much last season. Some of the players came out after the trade and said he had to go.

He's a great player though.

Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, Patriots you name the team. Raised on Cape Cod and will always be faithful to my home town teams. People here in Tampa give me crap all the time. I root for the Tampa Bay teams just not when they are playing my teams. They try to say I have been here for 10 years and should cross over. If you move to a new city and stop rooting for the team you were a fan of for your whole life then you were never really a fan.
I went through the all the rough years to finally see all of the Boston area teams back in the elite of their respective leagues. Damn sure am not going to jump ship now after being faithful to the Celtics for miserable 90s and early 2000s.

Oh yeah how about that romping the Celtics put on the Bulls last night. Detractors on ESPN saying the Cs were done after game 2. Maybe they won't win it all this year, they sure will try to but the Cs sure won't go down easy to a bunch of young bucks. Just got to get in the playoff frame of mind.

Manny you can have him. Wore out his welcome acted like a kid who decided to take his ball and go home. He is tearing it up out west but as far as I'm concerned he can stay there. I wish him the best but never want to see him in a red sox uniform again.
