okay....last night and early this morning we had some tremendous thunderstorms which led to flooding and highwater all around.
in my current vehicle (highly modified toyo avalon) i was unable to pass through the water.....my question is. how well do the MM do in the event of flash flooding and or heavy rain....im in htown tx so these storm pull through randomly all summer long....ive had blue skys then twentyminutes later im on the side of the road waiting for the water to subside....
any advice would be awesome thanks

It should work just like any other car. Take precautions as necessary. The MM is 4,000lbs+ so I don't think it would be a problem.

I had to drive mine thru about a foot of water last year when the floods hit here hardcore. I would reccomend avoiding any water if possible. Mine didn't feel all that sure footed. If it's only a couple inches I'm sure it's fine though.

Hit a very deep puddle (about 50' long, could have been a foot deep and clean across the road) durring our 'monsoon' season in the dark, at about 60kph (approx 35mph). My mm almost came to a dead stop but I kept it going right thru. Might have given some people a free shower at the nearby bus stop. Car survived with no problems.
Its a daily driver and it rains a lot around here, but so far no problems with water. These cars are tough, that's why cops love them.

Mine hydroplanes worse than any car I ever owned. There has been twice now that the situation was unavoidable and I had to nail 1 or 2 inch deep puddles and holy crap lift off!

No problems with occasional deep water here in the thunderstorm capital of the world. The brakes get wet, but other than that it's OK. We DO try to avoid it though. I know some of you guys like to lower your MMs, but I actually like the decent ground clearance for my daily driving purposes. I run over stuff in the road a lot. ;(

Wet handling has more to do with tires than the car or weight.

The skinnier the tires, the easier they cut through the water to make contact with the road.

As far as the vehicles intake and exhaust... I think 1 foot of water would not be an issue if you went slow and didn't shut the engine down.
